Vacancies contained in this section will be filled under the provisions of the South Australian Health Commission Act, 1976 and in the case of IMVS positions the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science Act, 1982. In addition to South Australian Health Commission Act employees, applications received from persons employed by the organisations contained on pages 1 and 2 of the Notice will also be accepted for vacancies listed in this section. Applicants are encouraged to obtain further details of the position and conditions of the vacancy from the contact officer nominated in the advertisement. Applicants should relate their application to the Person Specification for the position and include a Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume to maximise their chances of being considered further by a Selection Panel.



GRIEVANCE PROVISIONS

If you believe that your application for promotion has received unfair treatment relating to the selection process, you may have the right to seek a review of the decision. The right of review ONLY applies to employees under the South Australian Health Commission Act and employees under the Public Sector Management Act who were seconded to the SA Health Commission prior to 1st September, 1987. This Grievance Procedure is explained in more detail in Part 3-1 of the SAHC Act Human Resources Manual. Initial enquiries should be directed to the Chairperson of the Selection Panel.

Special Conditions: This is a part-time position working 37.5 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to hours worked. Days of work to be negotiated.

Switchboard Operator

(PART-TIME)

Duties: Responsible for providing a hospital switchboard service, monitoring the duress and fire alarms and participating in emergency response procedures, contacting on-call medical, paramedical and support personnel as required, and providing an effective hospital paging service.

Special Conditions: This is a permanent part-time position working 52 hours per fortnight with normal hours of work rostered over an 8.00am - 9.30pm Monday to Friday roster. May be required to work additional hours over a 7-day roster on occasion. Salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked. May be required to participate in staff rotation, and deputise in positions of the same or higher classification from time to time.

Duties: Provide a professional, customer-focused clerical service and is a principal point of contact for external and internal customers. Play a pivotal role in the efficient and effective functioning of the ward/unit and is a central point of co-ordination and communication for ward activities.

Special Conditions: Some out-of-hours work may be required based on the needs of the ward/unit, and will be negotiated with the Unit Nurse Manager. May be required to deputise at a higher classification and/or work in other areas of the hospital at the same or higher classification from time to time.

Duties: The Supply Clerk is accountable to the Senior Finance Officer for assisting in the provision of a clerical/administrative support service, which contributes to the maintenance of efficient, economic and responsive general purchasing, warehousing distribution and asset management systems.

Special Conditions: Some out of hours work may be required. Current SA Drivers' Licence is essential. Must be prepared to work in any area of the Health Service. May be required to work at other Health units within the region.

Duties: Accountable for the effective provision of a high quality reception/outpatient service to patients/customers and other hospital staff and departments. Preparation and running of outpatient clinics utilizing the computerized booking system, compiling test results, preparing medical records for appointments and other associated documentation for patients attending clinics, answering telephone enquiries and re-directing where necessary. Attending to patient customer counter enquiries.

Special Conditions: This is a temporary position for up to 12 months working 30 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to hours worked.

Award: South Australian Public Sector Salaried Employees Interim Award.
