Duties: Negotiate and liaise with a diverse range of organisations in the engineering fields and allied areas, and through management expertise ensure that agreed educational outcomes are achieved. The primary focus of the position will be electronics teaching programs, some Diploma teaching programs and Advance Diploma teaching programs across the engineering fields of the Engineering Faculty. Responsible for the day to day operational management, including planning and the allocation and development of human physical resources. Essential Minimum Qualifications: Appointment to an Educational Manager position at or above EM2 requires possession of a minimum qualification of an undergraduate degree or equivalent in both education and management. This requirement may be met by an appropriately structured Bachelor of Teaching (Education and Training of Adults) from the University of SA. Applicants holding an undergraduate degree in another discipline without components of either education or management will need to present evidence of additional formal qualification in the area(s). In respect to officers of the educational service appointed prior to 08/09/92, appropriate equivalent experience as assessed by the Chief Executive Officer, may be accepted in lieu of a formal qualification in management.

Special Conditions: Some evening and weekend work may be required. A flexible attitude to on duty hours as well as to when recreation leave is taken is required. May be required to work across all campuses of the Institute.
