<888> 03/19/14 Wednesday 7:05 P.M.  I chatted with a local European American electrical engineer about the price of tea in China.  I guess we could apply for foreign aid from http://www.ladycarnarvon.com/ , since they probably made a lot of money off their television series.  I am trying to remember, if I ever toured www.biltmore.com when I lived down south, before I moved here around June 1962.  The Vanderbilt family used to have this more modern house in Sands Point, Long Island vanderbilt mansion sands point new york  which looks like a lot of houses in Greenwich, Connecticut.  CIO

<888> 03/17/14 Monday 2:50 P.M.  I had a telephone call from the Greenwich Hospital outpatient clinic.  I am suppose to fast for eight hours sometime soon and go to the Greenwich Hospital laboratory to get my blood work done for my cholesterol.  I have a follow up appointment after that on March 31, 2014 at 3 P.M..  The order with tracking of UPS Tracking on the order for ten http://www.cablestogo.com/product/50035 for $1.13 each and ten http://www.cablestogo.com/product/50020 for .47 each for $16 and $10.69 shipping for $26.69 total arrived.  CIO

<888> 03/17/14 Monday 2:20 P.M.  On the primary work computer, I installed the Windows Updates and did some systems maintenance.  The new www.java.com update does not allow one to look at http://www4.passur.com/hpn.html because of security restrictions.  The site does work on the server with my older installation.  When I reinstalled the older version of JAVA on the primary work computer, it still does not work, since instead of working, it asks to install the newer version of JAVA which does not work with airport monitor.  I chatted with a friend.  CIO

<888> 03/17/14 Monday 11:35 A.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I moved the Volvo wagon to its usual place.  I chatted with neighbors.  One would never know it, but I live near the World Headquarters for the World's Most Secret Computer Company www.ibm.com and http://www.ibm.com/contact/us/en/  that nobody locally seems to know anything about up in Armonk, New York.  It is only about 8.9 miles away as the crow flies or about 18 minutes.  They have never shown any interest in me since I moved here in 1962, except inviting me to a deb party the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan around 1970.  They did help finance http://www.greenhosp.org/ , if one needs medical assistance locally.  However, they probably have a lot of major security up there, not to mention it would be very expensive to drive that far away to see if anything might be happening up there.  Also the main route there King Street is a very busy two lane road with www.pepsi.com headquarters half way to Armonk not to mention the nearby http://www4.passur.com/hpn.html , so I guess all of the IBM business travelers go to nearby White Plains, New York, where there is more activity.  CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 9:25 P.M.  I once read in the local newspaper in Kennebunkport, Maine that the "Old Guard" like drinking Bloody Mary's on Sunday morning.   As I recall the recipe for a Bloody Mary is a couple of shots or ounces of http://www.smirnoff.com/ in a glass of ice with about four to six ounce of www.heinz.com tomato juice and dashes of ground black pepper, a few dashes http://www.leaperrins.com/ and a few dashes of http://www.tabasco.com/ and a teaspoon of Gold's Horse Radish, and all shaken or stirred, with a twist of lemon or lime wedge.  This is the internet version http://www.thebar.com/drink-recipe/bloody-mary?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=bloody%20mary%20recipe&utm_campaign=Desktop-General-US-NB-Recipes-Core-Exact&utm_content=22FOCyKS|pcrid|2005144321 which has a half ounce of lemon juice and also dashes of green tabasco sauce and a pinch of salt and a celery stick.

I just drank a 12 ounce glass of 50% punch and 50% Schweppes Ginger Ale.  CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 8:40 P.M.  I chatted with a relative.  The relative suggested that I watch "60 Minutes".  My old office at www.cbs.com in the spring and summer of 1973 used to be next to "60 Minutes".  I worked as a clerk typist on an IBM Selectric doing the paperwork for the commercials.  Each commercial film reel had to have its own paperwork for billing purposes.  Back then a minute of prime time advertising went for a million dollars, since so many people watched the major networks.  However, I was only paid $75 a week after taxes.  I had to be at work from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M., but since I had a hard time sleeping, I had a problem making it to work by 10 A.M., so I was fired.  I lived in a $35 a week room at the St. Clair residence on West 10th street just west of Fifth Avenue.  There used to be a pub a block west of their called the "Ninth Circle" where a lot of the CBS employees hung out after work.  There was even a 24 hour 7 day a week television repair shop next to the Ninth Circle, in case one needed a TV part at some odd time of the day.  The Ninth Circle at one time was one of the oldest steak houses in Manhattan.  However, as the neighborhood became more expensive, I guess the television people found other places to hang their hats.  I noticed today while walking by the Greenwich Train Station that Sanel's ? restaurant had little bottles of http://www.tabasco.com/ on their tables, which I wandered since it is so expensive, people might walk off with them. However, "CBS 60 Minutes" just had a segment on the Tabasco family and its operations.  It seems they are in gator country.  When I went to http://lookoutmountaincamp.com/ the Morrison family from New Orleans of cafeteria fame owned the camp.  Morrison's catering now does the catering at the Senior Center in Greenwich.  Since I was one of three Yankee campers at Lookout Mountain Camp, the other few hundred southern boys never kept track of me, but they were all from old established southern families.  Tabasco sauce tastes really good on Hickory smoked barbecue pork and chicken.  However, they do not know how to make real barbecue up north the way they do down south.  There used to be a barbecue place across the street from the World Wrestling Federation in Stamford, Connecticut, but I can not find mention of it on the internet.  It was right on the Stamford Darien border on US 1.  CIO

Low of 18 degrees Fahrenheit the next two nights.  It seems like this winter has been colder than past winters in recent memory.  CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 5:40 P.M.  I took the wire rack out of the Faberware Turbo convection oven, and I preheated the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit about five minutes.  While doing that I unwrapped the 14.06 ounce Greenway four cheese frozen pizza made in Italy, and I put it on the wire rack, and I seasoned it with celery salt, ground black pepper, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, a generous portion of grated Parmesan and Romano cheese, and extra virgin Italian olive oil over it all.  I then put the pizza on the rack in the Farberware Turbo convection oven on the center rack position for ten minutes.  After ten minutes, I used pot holders to take out the hot rack with pizza, and I put it on a wooden cutting board, so it would not burn the Formica counter top.  I then used a spatula to slide the pizza on to a dinner plate.  I ate it with a knife and fork along with a 12 ounce glass of Schweppes Ginger Ale.  CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 3:55 P.M.  I threw out the garbage.  I went downtown to the Greenwich Avenue CVS.  I bought two 12 packs of 12 ounce Canada Dry Ginger Ale and a 12 pack of 12 ounce A&W root beer for $11 and a $1.80 can deposit for $12.80 total.  I then bought a 16 ounce bag of CVS lightly salted almonds for $4.99 less the $4 bonus bucks on the previous purchase for .99 total.  I then went further downtown.  I walked the entire length of Greenwich Avenue and the train station area.  I sat out at various locations.  I chatted with another local walker.  I used the bathroom at CVS.  I sat out at the top of Greenwich Avenue.  I then went back by CVS, and I bought four 18 ounce cans of Progresso New England clam chowder for $1.49 each less .50 CVS machine coupon for $5.46 total.  I then finished my walk, and I sat out some more enjoying the brisk cool sunny day.  I then went by A&P Fresh, and I bought a 42 ounce Quaker Old Fashioned oatmeal for $5.99, a 12 ounce package of Purdue seasoned cutlets for $3.34, a three pound bag of organic Canadian Russet potatoes for $2.99, four 14.06 ounce Green Way frozen four cheese pizzas for $1.99 each less a 20% off frozen food coupon of $1.59 off for $19.69 total.  I then went by the Putnam Shell at 401 West Putnam Avenue, and I bought $9 of self service V-Powered premium gasoline for $4.299 a gallon for 2.093 gallons at odometer reading of 107557 miles for 26.7 miles driven since Saturday March 8, 2014 for 12.757 miles per gallon in mostly local traffic.  CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 10:45 A.M.  I chatted with a relative twice.  I will now shower and clean up and go downtown to the miracle mile of Greenwich Avenue. Sunny and a high of 33 degrees Fahrenheit today.  CIO

<888> 03/16/14 Sunday 9:15 A.M.  I woke up at 7:45 A.M..  I ate breakfast of oatmeal with honey and milk, a toasted whole wheat bagel with olive oil, a 12 ounce glass of 50% punch and 50% cold filtered water and vitamins and supplements, and a cup of coffee with milk and Splenda sweetener.  I washed the breakfast dishes.  I made my bed.  CIO

<888> 03/15/14 Saturday 7:30 P.M.  I ate a 19 ounce Stouffer's meat lasagna with grated parmesan and Romano cheese and a 12 ounce glass of Canada Dry Ginger Ale.  We just had a cooking smoke fire alarm, but there was no problem.  CIO

<888> 03/15/14 Saturday 6:50 P.M.  I sat outside for a while observing the parking lot.  I then installed a $34.71 with free shipping on $35 RCA ANT1650F/ANT1650R Flat Digital Amplified Indoor TV Antenna so use a filler for free shipping in a downstairs neighbor's west facing window connected to his 23 inch Toshiba Digital TV.  I used the menu option to scan for channels, and he got 48 channels including CBS, CBS News, NBC, FOX, ABC and several movie channels.  I removed his old optimum equipment for him to return.  I do not think that antenna would work in my apartment, since I have the main part of the second story brick building opposite my windows.  Also I would not get Bloomberg News.  I picked up the mail.  The order with tracking of https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?qtc_tLabels1=9405509699937404204652 on the order for http://volvopartslisle.com/OEM-Volvo-Part-Number-30663894-Wiper-Blade for $13.51 and $6 standard shipping for $19.51 total arrived.  However, when I went to install it, it definitely was the wrong part.  It was also two inches shorter than the existing wiper blade on the rear window of the Volvo wagon.  However, I took the old Volvo blade assembly, and I removed the rubber part from the new wiper blade assembly, and I installed it in the old assembly, and it fit on the Volvo wagon just fine.  However the plastic fork assembly that holds it in place had one of its forks break.  I then went downtown, and to the www.greenwichhardware.com , and they gave me a 5/8th inch diameter metal hose clamp that I used to secure the new wiper blade to the wiper assembly securing it in place.  One has to use a small hose clamp, so the wiper blade assembly fits into the blade assembly covering.  It works just fine.  In the future, I could just buy the rubber wiper blade of the right length an install it in the old assembly with the hose clamp.  I then sat out downtown for a while in the center of town.  I then went by CVS on Greenwich Avenue, and I picked up a prescription.  I then returned home.  CIO

<888> 03/15/14 Saturday 1:25 P.M.  The Cambridge University Press use to have offices on Midland Avenue in nearby Port Chester, New York, but now that Port Chester has gotten so expensive, it says here http://www.cambridge.org/about-us/contact-us/#country-contact-data , they moved to West Nyack, New York.  http://www.cambridge.org/ and http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/antidisestablishmentarianism?q=+antidisestablishmentarianism CIO

<888> 03/15/14 Saturday 1:05 P.M.  I went outside for a while and browsed the beautiful day.  Last Tuesday I saw a flock of Canadian Geese flying north for the season.  I tried to figure out something to do, but at the moment I can not figure out anything to do.  I chatted with a relative.  I ate three ounces of wabasi and soy almonds.  I did not go downtown today on a beautiful day, because it is more peaceful at home, and I did not want to be in the way of all of the more affluent people going about their weekend errands.  However, if one looks at http://www.ct.gov/dot/cwp/view.asp?a=2354&q=415220 , it is not really that busy around here up in the north country with the higher prices of fuel http://util.automobilemag.com/31/connecticut/fairfield/greenwich/gas_prices.html .  When gasoline was half the price over a decade ago, I used to drive more.  I would go for drives in the early morning hours, when the roads were pretty much empty.  I also used to take the back country circuit driving up into the Round Hill Road area of town.  I also used to drive to New Canaan to see how the wealthy Connecticut people there manage to avoid the ambitious New Yorkers.  I use also shop some of the discount outlets in Norwalk, Connecticut.  CIO
