News about a small group from Nimarta Roberts, School Counselor
I am offering a “Banana Splits” group at Granville Elementary School for 3^rd grade students of divorced or separated parents. If your family is in a transition phase or has completed the transition, your child may benefit from this group. The group will offer students healthy coping strategies for feelings associated with the divorce or separation. Various activities and discussions allow the students to express their thoughts and feelings in a confidential and safe environment. “Banana Splits” helps to reassure your child that he/she is not the only one with separated or divorced parents. Banana Splits will meet for 6 sessions during lunch. Students wilI bring their lunches to the group (packing is preferred to save time). We will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 28^th. Please complete the form below if you and your child have talked about this group and your child would like to participate in this group. Please have your child return this form to his/her classroom teacher by Wednesday, Nov. 28^th, 2012.
