Betty Ann Badger joined the League in 2015 and enjoyed registering voters. She retired in 2014 from 38 years on the adjunct faculty in the master's degree program in mental health counseling at Nova Southeastern University. She worked in her private practice in mental health counseling with her husband for 25 years. Their passion was the licensing of mental health counseling in Florida which was accomplished in l984. Besides social justice, she enjoys tennis and playing the guitar and singing folk music with friends. She served as president of her condominium in Atlantis for 9 years until 2012. She has two daughters and four grandchildren.
Beryl Blecher moved to Palm Beach Gardens in May 2015 when she retired after a 30-year career with the U.S. Government. She served twenty years in the Foreign Service and her assignments included Tokyo, Moscow (two times), Zagreb, Sarajevo, Sydney and finally at the European Union institutions in Brussels for five and a half years. She rose to the rank of Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs and was one of a handful of women to achieve that ranking. Beryl was awarded the Department of Commerce Gold Medal for her work in developing U.S. export markets and protecting U.S. commercial interests in the Balkans. After joining the League, Beryl took an active role in the preparation of the Voters Guide. Beryl has one son who resides in New York City.
