Results
To analyse the relationship between health benefits and meat avoidance, a Simple Linear regression test was used. As shown in table 3, the significant value of the meat avoidance variable is statistically significant (p = .000), which means that this variable has a significant positive influence on health benefits. As seen in Appendix 10, in the model summary table that the square value of R square is (R2 = .066), which is more than 0.5. This means that the association between health benefits and meat avoidance is moderate. In addition, it can be stated from the Coefficient table that (B = .256). This means a positive relationship as there is no negative sign in front of the Beta value.
Interpretation & Insight
Limitation of meat consumption has recently become one of the main concerns linked to the environment degradation and public health. This is illustrated in the increase of promotion for dietary styles focused on plants, such as vegan diets. Three main factors why a vegan diet is adopted by people. First, vegans state that it is ethically influenced intentions such as fighting for animal rights, secondly attitudes related to health and thirdly attitudes related to the environment. The influence of peer groups is other factors. Potential health benefits of vegan diets include the reduction in getting sick of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer and premature death. Reducing the use of animal products decreases the risk of Alzheimer's disease. To prevent the side effects related to the antibiotics and hormones used in modern animal products, some see veganism diets as medicinal. Additionally, studies related to vegan diets, states that many aim to have a lower body weight and body mass index ( BMI) (Modlinska et al. 2020).
