News Release Incident: Bank Robbery

On Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at approximately 3:00 pm Officers Avette Harper and Gene Laielli of the Atlantic City Police Department stopped a vehicle fitting the description of the vehicle used in the robbery on Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City. Further investigation at the scene of the stop and at the Egg Harbor Township Police Department led to the arrest of Dalip Selman Kozi, 46 years of age from Brooklyn New York. Kozi was charged with Robbery, Terroristic Threats and Theft. Municipal Court Judge H.R. Switzer set bail at $200,000.00 full and he was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The Egg Harbor Township Police Department wants to thank the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Atlantic City Police Department for assisting in bringing this case to as successful conclusion.
Original Release:
On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at approximately 9:16 am, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to the Wells Fargo Bank in the Harbor Square Shopping Center, in the Cardiff section of the township, in reference to a bank robbery.
The suspect reportedly approached a teller, presented a note demanding cash and advising he had a weapon. An undetermined amount of cash was taken. The suspect fled the bank in an unknown direction. No one was injured in the incident.
The suspect is described as a light skinned Hispanic male, in his 30’s, 5’6” to 5’10” in height, medium build, short shaved hair, wearing aviator style sun glasses, black pants with a white stripe and a grey puffy jacket. The suspect was last seen operating a newer model black or dark blue Chevy Malibu or similar vehicle. The area was searched by numerous Egg Harbor Township Officers, Detectives and with the assistance of the local Federal Bureau of Investigation Office. The suspect was not located at this time.
Captain Christopher Ruef, Detectives Robert Harte, Patricia Dimarco and John Heim of the Egg Harbor Township Criminal Investigation Bureau along with Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating this incident.
