Noor Ahmed (Nor Ah-med) The First Tee of Greater Sacramento

  • 16-year-old junior at Vista del Lago High School, involved with The First Tee for 6 years.

  • Represented her chapter at The First Tee Outstanding Participant Leadership Summit in 2015.

  • She is a coach at her chapter and teaches golfers with physical and mental disabilities.

  • When she was nine, her dad promised to buy her a cell phone when she beat him in a round of golf. He though it would be three or four years, but she beat him after six months.

  • She hopes to receive a scholarship to play Division-I golf. After college her dream is to work in an emergency room as a nurse practitioner.

Jack Avrit (Jack Ay-ver-it), The First Tee of Central Coast (Calif.)

  • 16-year-old junior at Arroyo Grande High School, involved with The First Tee for more than 9 years. 

  • Brother was diagnosed with autism. He has struggled with his brother’s behavior and volunteers with Special Olympics to help his relationship with his brother.

  • He mentors younger participants at his chapter. He enjoys the experience because it gives him the chance to pass on the values and skills that he learned through The First Tee.

  • His goal is to play college golf and to start a career in the golf industry.

Dario Ayala (Dah-reo Ah-yah-lah), The First Tee of Atlanta

  • 17-year-old senior at Alpharetta High School, involved with The First Tee for 6 years.

  • Represented his chapter at two national events for The First Tee: The First Tee PLAYer Advanced Academy in 2014 and The First Tee Outstanding Participant Leadership Summit in 2015.

  • Has volunteered for several men's and women's collegiate and PGA TOUR events serving different roles from food services to caddying for players.

  • Scored in the top 20 percent on Le Grand Concours, an annual national competition for French students. The competition is a written test in which students compete against others for prizes.

  • He would like to play Division-I collegiate golf and then become a Software Engineer.

  • His family listens to a lot of Spanish music and has inspired him to take up dancing lessons. He’s learning salsa and merengue.

Jay Babu (Jay Ba-boo), The First Tee of Northern Nevada

  • 16-year-old junior at Galena High School, involved with The First Tee for 7 years.

  • Volunteers at U.S Kids Golf events and at chapter fundraisers.

  • His extracurricular activities include: president of the chess club; speech and debate; and tutoring

  • He represented his chapter at The First Tee Life Skills & Leadership Academy in San Diego in 2013.

  • He hopes to play Division-I college golf and become a doctor.

  • Received the award “Best Student in Every Subject” in 8th grade and as a sophomore was first in his class (out of 343 students).

Colby Bradley (Col-bee Brad-lee), The First Tee of Augusta

  • 17-year-old senior at North Augusta High School, involved with The First Tee for 8 years.

  • Plans to attend college and major in pharmacy.

  • Recently had his appendix removed in January 2015.

  • He anticipates having earned 21 hours of college credit upon high school graduation.

  • He has volunteered several times with the annual Rock Fore! Dough concert held during the Masters week.

  • 2015   Participated in a PGA Junior Series tournament held at Columbia Country Club, Blythewood, South Carolina and shot a career low 69 in the final round.

  • 2014  River Golf Junior Club Champion with rounds of 71/75  River Golf Club, North Augusta, SC

Clare Brady (Kl-air Bray-dee), The First Tee of Silicon Valley

  • 16-year-old junior at Archbishop Mitty High School, involved with The First Tee for 5 years.

  • Lost her mother to breast cancer at 6-years-old.

  • Calls two of her coaches at The First Tee her “golf moms.” They give her advice on competitive golf, but also on life.

  • She aspires to play Division-I college golf.

  • She wants to begin training for a 5k so that she can maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Received a scholarship to attend the Jim McClean Golf School at Trump National at Doral. Was one of four attendees (the only girl) from all over the world (Mexico, India, and California). After the camp, she won six tournaments.

Davis Bryant (DAY-vuhs BRY-ent), The First Tee of Green Valley Ranch (CO)

  • 15-year-old sophomore at Eaglecrest High School, involved with The First Tee for over 9 years.

  • Named after Davis Love III

  • He was born 14 weeks early weighing 1 pound-10 ounces. He spent over 100 days in the hospital and doctors said he had a high chance developmental delays. Despite the odds, he has no lifelong disabilities.

  • Has attends the Porter Billups Leadership Academy at Regis University in Denver each summer. He participates in classes covering life skills, public speaking, science, computer programming, art and physical education. Students that complete the Academy at the end of high school are offered a full ride scholarship to Regis University.

  • He caddied for John Elway, NFL Hall of Fame quarterback and Vice President of the Denver Broncos in the Colorado Senior Open.

Najae Butler (Nah-jay But-ler), The First Tee of Atlanta

  • 16-year-old junior at Westlake High School, involved with The First Tee for 7 years.

  • She created her own girls golf website (www.golfgirlsworld.com) intended to inspire a new generation of female golfers.

  • She hopes to receive a full scholarship to play college golf and plans to major in business or attend a school that has the PGM Program (Professional Golf Management). After college she wants to become an entrepreneur and start her own golf clothing line.

  • She loves to cook. She hopes to open a restaurant later in life.

  • Her most significant golf achievement is making it to the State Championship two years in a row as an individual.

  • She is captain of the boys and girls varsity golf team at school. The girl’s golf team is undefeated.

  • Playing in the Doral-Publix Junior Golf Classic was a significant event in her life because she competed on the same course that her favorite professional golfers, Mariah Stackhouse and Lexi Thompson, have played.

Carlo Carino, The First Tee of Greater New Orleans

  • 16-year-old senior at Jesuit High School, involved with The First Tee for over 9 years.

  • His best friend took her life at 14 years old; deeply affected him

  • Was named one of The First Tee’s two Outstanding Participant Finalists in 2015 (out of the entire network – was awarded $20,000 college scholarship courtesy of Shell Oil Company)

  • His long term goals include attending college and majoring in neuroscience and minoring in psychology, and then pursuing a career in the medical field.

  • Seven months ago he found out he has a half-brother. His brother tracked down their dad and introduced himself. Carlo says it’s been an incredible experience and he has two nieces.

  • He has been playing the piano since he was 4 years old.

Sayaka Carpenter (Sa-yaa-kaa Car-pen-ter), The First Tee of Raritan Valley (NJ)

  • 17-year-old senior at East Brunswick High School, involved with The First Tee for 6 years.

  • Coaches classes for her chapter and volunteers at the Royce Brook Junior Golf Academy over the summer.

  • She is a cellist for her school’s orchestra and helps instruct students in the beginner and intermediate orchestra.

  • Volunteers twice a week at her school’s CARE Club helping middle school students with homework.

  • Her future goal is to play Division-I college golf.

  • She enjoys drawing, sculpting and playing the cello.

  • Most of her family lives in Japan and she is fluent in Japanese. Her grandmother sends her Japanese comic books to keep her interested in the language.

  • As the captain of her high school golf team, she helps her teammates with their swing and boosts their confidence during meets. By the end of the season all five members of the team improved their averages by at least 5 strokes.

  • 17-year-old junior at Ranchview High School, involved with The First Tee for 8 years.

  • Her future goal is to play college golf and pursue a career in biology so that she can help people in need.

  • She enjoys reading, drawing and playing the violin.

  • Golf is the only sport that she has ever played.

  • Her favorite cartoons are Adventure Time and Steven Universe.

Tiffany Cha (Tif-uh-nee Cha), The First Tee of the Tri-Valley (Calif.)

  • 17-year-old senior at Dougherty Valley High School, involved with The First Tee for 2 years.

  • Her favorite quote is “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.” –Muhammad Ali

  • She enjoys travelling and her favorite memory is riding a camel on a beach in Mexico.

  • She has lots of school spirit and loves going to high school football games wearing her school colors, including a blue tutu.

  • Her core value that she values the most is confidence and she contributes it to her success.

Says getting selected for the Nature Valley First Tee Open is the most significant golf event in her life.

Arden Childers (Ar-den Child-ers), The First Tee of Contra Costa (Calif.)

  • 17-year-old senior at Acalanes High School, involved with The First Tee for 7 years.

  • Has rafted down the Rogue River in Oregon. Says the experience taught him the importance of preserving and friendship.

  • Loves being outdoors without the interruption of technology; believes this is why golf is such a great fit for him. He keeps his phone turned off while on the golf course.

  • Returned to school after summer break and found out his group of friends had started doing drugs. Made the decision to find new friends that have the same interests and motivate him.

  • 16-year-old junior at San Marino High School, involved with The First Tee for 7 years.

  • Studied Tae Kwon Do since he was five and has a second degree black belt.

  • Enjoys volunteering at his chapter of The First Tee, Habitat for Humanity and American Red Cross.

  • Plans to become a pharmacist.

  • When he’s not golfing, he enjoys playing basketball, swimming and snowboarding.

  • Heard Jason Gore give a speech at the Norther Trust Open that inspired him to play competitive golf.

Michael Cliff, The First Tee of Fresno


  • 17-year-old junior at Fresno Christian School, involved with The First Tee for 7 years.

  • He is a mentor at his chapter and strives to be a good example for the younger children.

  • His dream is to one day play on the PGA TOUR.

  • He is a member of a local choir group and enjoys playing soccer and volleyball on his spare time.

  • He is addicted to eating popsicles. He can’t go a day without eating one.

Golf Section:

  • His most significant golf achievement was making it to the SoCal Regionals at Brookside Golf Course as the only freshman from the valley to make it to the regional.

Jackson Cole, The First Tee of Brunswick County (NC)

  • 15-year-old sophomore at South Carolina Connections Academy and plays golf for the Waccamaw High School golf team, involved with The First Tee for 6 years.

  • Future goals are to graduate high school, attend college and pursue a career in golf or sports.

  • He enjoys helping his grandfather with classic cars.

  • He has a pet bearded dragon named Ziggy. He says that Ziggy keeps him company while he does his school assignments.

  • His most significant event in his life was watching his golf coach battle esophageal cancer, it showed him to never take life for granted.

  • Made the high school varsity golf team as a 7th grader, when he was 12 years old.

  • His golf coach, Mike Schroder, also instructed Kelly Tillman from the Golf Channel.

Daniel Connolly (Con-oh-lee), San Francisco - EXEMPTION

  • 18-year-old senior at Stuart Hall High School.

  • Enjoy playing basketball and soccer, as well as spending time with friends.

  • First generation U.S. citizen, his family is from Ireland.

  • This past year he volunteered as a coach at The First Tee of San Francisco for six weeks.

Ben Constancio (Ben Cun-stan-see-oh), The First Tee of Greater Austin

  • 16-year-old junior at Hyde Park High School, involved with The First Tee for 7 years.

  • He mentors Birdie and Eagle classes at his chapter of The First Tee.

  • His future goal is play Division-I college golf

  • In his spare time he loves riding his bike, playing basketball and capturing photographs for his digital photography class.

  • He loves to listen to electronic dance music (EDM).

  • The two most significant events in his life was getting baptized in 2013 and attending The First Tee Life Skills and Leadership Academy in 2012.

  • Has developed a “go-to team” friend group this past year and his team members possess character traits such as loyalty, a good sense of humor and service.

Marissa Del Monaco (Marissa Del-mon-ah-coh), The First Tee of Western New York

  • 17-year-old senior at Cattaraugus Little Valley High School, involved with The First Tee for 5 years.

  • Uncle passed away last February and her grandfather passed away later that year, in October.

  • She was very close to her uncle and he was one of her biggest supporters in her golf career, says she plays every round of golf for him.

  • She is involved in a group called TIES (Together Including Every Student) that helps kids who have disabilities do things like a non-disabled child would do.

  • She is also part of her school’s Kid Connect which is a program where she mentors a little girl who doesn’t have an important adult figure in her life.

Nicolette Dilluvio (Nic-o-let Dil-lou-vee-o), The First Tee of Metropolitan New York

  • 17-year-old senior at Kellenberg Memorial High School, involved with The First Tee for over 9 years.

  • Mentors a 12-year-old girl in her chapter and tutors peers at her school.

  • She wants to play college golf, become a physical therapist or athletic trainer, and work in the golf industry.

  • Her father introduced her to the game of golf when she was four.

  • Was diagnosed with Alopecia in the 8th grade. It’s an autoimmune disease which causes the white blood cells to attack the hair follicle and prohibits the hair from growing. The diagnosis changed her outlook on life and believes inner beauty is what mattes the most.
