  • 16-year-old sophomore at Marlborough School, involved with The First Tee for 7 years.

  • Say’s her grandfather’s passing has been the hardest obstacle she’s ever had to overcome. He introduced her to golf and their last trip together was to Pebble Beach. It was her dream to play golf, but she didn’t have the chance to play during their trip. This opportunity is fulfilling her dream.

  • She serves as a volunteer at her chapter.

  • She loves to read books.

  • She wants to play college golf and continue to be a role model for youth, specifically girls.

Brock Dowdy (Douw-dee), The First of Denver (CO)

  • 17-year-old senior at Denver East High School, involved with The First Tee for 6 years.

  • He is a member of his high school’s honors choir.

  • On his spare time he enjoys playing basketball, working out and drawing designs of golf courses.

  • He enjoys dressing in slacks and a golf shirt every day to school.

  • He played in the 2014 Tournament of Champions and was invited to play in the 2015 American High School Championship at St. Andrews.

Tanya Eathakotti (Taw-nee-aw Ee-thuh-ka-dee), The First Tee of Miami (FL)

  • 15-year-old sophomore at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, involved with The First Tee for 7 years.

  • She is considering medicine or finance as her career choices.

  • She is an avid athlete and leads her school’s varsity basketball team and golf team.

  • She volunteered at a school for disabled orphans in India and was able to apply her lessons from The First Tee to the children.

  • She aspires to get a Private Pilot’s License.

  • Volunteers at her chapter and assists the younger participants.

Dylan Fisher (Dill-an Fish-er), The First Tee of Charlotte (NC)

  • 17-year-old senior at Providence High School, involved with The First Tee for 3 years.

  • He has helped coach youth in the PLAYer classes at his chapter.

  • His future goals are to play college golf, major in political science and go to law school after college.

  • He likes to play basketball, football and soccer with his friends.

  • He learned that he could not take life for granted when his sisters got in a bad car accident.

  • He dedicates his hard work and determination to his mother because he grew up in a single parent home.

  • He caddied at the Wells Fargo Tournament for Cameron Tringale on the 17th hole and also attended the Sankaty Head Caddie Camp.

  • 17-year-old senior at Vista Del Lago High School, involved with The First Tee for 8 years.

  • Tutors kids in school, helps teach life skills lessons at The First Tee Junior Tour tournaments and has also helped disabled or special needs people play golf.

  • He wants to get his pilot’s license and fly around the world one day.

  • He enjoys playing the guitar, building R/C planes and fishing on his spare time.

  • He got the chance to meet Tiger Woods and give President Bush a high-five.

  • His favorite memory is going to the 2007 World Series with his dad when the Rockies played the Red Sox in Denver.

Lee Froelich (Lee Fray-lick), The First Tee of St. Paul at Highland Park

  • 16-year-old sophomore at Highland Park Senior High, involved with The First Tee for over 9 years.

  • She practices the healthy habit of Community as she volunteers with the special needs program at her school and at her chapter.

  • She got to speak on the ESPN 1500 radio station to promote his chapter, speak at two of The First Tee Gala’s and was a junior reporter for the 3M Championship.

  • She was chosen to attend The First Tee 2014 Life Skills and Leadership Academy in San Diego, California.

  • She was adopted at the age of 14 months from the Ukraine.

  • She enjoys playing baseball and hockey.

Tori Gatling (Tore-ee Gat-ling), The First Tee of Greater Houston (TX)

  1. 17-year-old senior at Kingwood Park High School, involved with The First Tee for 8 years.

  2. Inducted into her high school’s National Honor Society and has volunteered with her chapter for three years.

  3. Represented her chapter at The First Tee’s Life Skills and Leadership Academy in 2013.

  4. She was able to go behind the scenes of the 2013 Shell Houston Open and got to interview players and write articles about the tournament. It helped her with her aspiration of pursuing sports journalism as a career.

  5. She has an eye for design as she was the schools Editor-in-Chief for the yearbook and had the opportunity to go to the state journalism conference in San Antonio to experiment with her photography.

  6. Adopted at 4 months old.

  • Awarded “Most Improved Player” by her schools golf team.

  • -Helping my school golf team win our first Team State Championship (5A at Wolfdancer). I finished 7th shooting 77/76 -Winning the “Most Improved Female Golfer” Award for the 2014-2015 season at the end of the year banquet last season for my round at State.

  • -Finished tied for 2nd at the Houston Golf Association Tournament of Champions shooting 77/77 -Placed first in a Houston Golf Association tournament at Cypresswood Golf Course shooting 79/72 -ALSO, I am a verbal commit to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor

Brant Gillepsie (Brant Gill-less-pee), The First Tee of Augusta (GA)

  1. 18-year-old senior at North Augusta High School, involved with The First Tee for over 9 years.

  2. Volunteers at his chapter not only on the golf course but also in the classroom. He also helps teach tee ball to 3-5 year olds in his hometown’s baseball league.

  3. He is currently a member of his school’s Naval Junior The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program and volunteers at the Augusta Veterans Administration hospital.

  4. Marches in his school’s marching band and competes statewide during the fall.

  5. He has received multiple awards such as the Paul S. Simon Volunteer of the Year in 2013 and the Paul S. Simon Most Volunteer Hours in 2014 by his chapter.

  6. Represented his chapter at the 2015 Outstanding Participant Leadership Summit and the 2014 Life Skills and Leadership Academy.

  1. 17-year-old senior at Martin Luther King Jr. Academic Magnet High School at Pearl High, involved with The First Tee for over 9 years.

  2. Volunteers as a coach with his chapter and also coach’s basketball at the local Jewish Community Center.

  3. His future goals are to attend college, major in communications and become a broadcaster or commentator for sports.

  4. His nickname was Diddy while he was playing baseball.

  5. He says that The First Tee core value Confidence gives him a strong mindset every day.

  6. This past summer he has been preparing for the Nature Valley First Tee Open by golfing each and every day to be able to perform his best.

Aubrey Graves (Aw-bree Graves), The First Tee of East Lake (GA)

  • 17-year-old senior at Westlake High School, involved with The First Tee for over 9 years.

  • Mentors younger students and middle school boys at his chapter.

  • Enjoys playing football, cooking and collecting sneakers.

  • His first words were “ball ball.”

  • Participated in “caddy for a day” through his chapter for the TOUR Championship by Coca Cola. His first time doing it he got to meet Tiger Woods and then the following year he got to meet Adam Scott.

  • He wants to play college golf and graduate college with degrees in business administration and PGM (Professional Golf Management).

Shahbaz Hashmi (Shah-baaz Haash-mee), The First Tee of Greater San Antonio (TX)

  • 15-year-old sophomore at Keystone School, involved with The First Tee for over 9 years.

  • He is a junior coach and mentor at his chapter.

  • His future goals are to attend Stanford or Oxford University to play college golf.

  • He enjoys playing basketball and squash; he represents his school on its junior varsity basketball team and he plays squash in a league at his gym.

  • He has travelled to over 25 countries and can name 90 percent of the capitals of the world by memory.

  • Witnessed the San Antonio Spurs win their fifth NBA Title last year.

  • He has played golf and been part of The First Tee since the age of four.

Karlei Hemler (Car-lay Hem-ler), The First Tee of the Golden Triangle (TX)

  • 17-year-old junior at Port-Neches High School, involved with The First Tee for 6 years.

  • She has her own cancer foundation and holds an annual Juniors Against Cancer Tournament.

  • She has developed The First Tee Healthy Habit of energy as she energizes herself by eating every three holes while playing golf.

  • She mentors youth at her chapter and would like to become a golf coach one day.

  • She says that she is not afraid to meet a stranger and that she is a very outgoing person.

  • 15-year-old sophomore at Sacred Heart High School, involved with The First Tee for 5 years.

  • He volunteers at his chapter and helps younger participants.

  • His mom says that could become a weatherman due to the fact that he checks the weather all the time!

  • He aspires to become a collegiate golfer and to become a professional golfer.

  • His favorite on course snack is beef jerky.

  • He enjoys basketball, playing guitar and boating.

  • His ultimate goal is play for the PGA TOUR.

  • He currently has 4.76 GPA and has never made a “B” in his academic career.

  • He represented his chapter at The First Tee 2014 Life Skills and Leadership Academy and won its tournament.

  • Enjoys playing basketball and playing video games with his brother and playing the trumpet in band.

Jack Hirsch (Her-sh), The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia (PA)

  • 18-year-old senior at Harriton High School, involved with The First Tee for 5 years.

  • He is a volunteer coach at his chapter and holds a prominent role of the regional and international leadership position at his Jewish youth group BBYO (B'nai B'rith Youth Organization).

  • His favorite movie is Forrest Gump and his favorite food is Philly Cheesesteaks (without the cheese!)

  • His favorite golf course that he has played on is Hidden Creek Golf Club in New Jersey.

  • He loves to write and wants to major in journalism.

Gypsie Hutchinson (Jip-see Hut-chin-sun), The First Tee of Lexington

  • 17-year-old senior at Lexington Christian Academy, involved with The First Tee for 4 years.

  • Volunteers every year as a counselor at Bluegrass Christian Camp and volunteers at the Don Fight Master Tournament for Exception Children by teaching special needs youth how to play golf.

  • She wants to attend college and major in sports management.

  • She was named after her great grandmother who was a Chickasaw Indian.

  • She was chosen to attend a leadership conference at Oxford University in London.

  • A significant event in her life was losing both her grandfathers in a four day time period. Although they are not here to watch her play, she knows that they have the best seat in the house.

Sheldon “DJ” Johnson (Dee-jay John-son), The First Tee of East Baton Rouge Parish

  • 16-year-old junior at Catholic High School, involved with The First Tee

  • Future goals are to finish his last two years of high school with a 4.0 and to play Division-1 college golf.

  • He is a huge fan of Taylor Swift and can recite the lyrics to any of her songs.

  • He enjoys playing basketball with friends, working out and watching Golf Channel.

  • Two significant events in his life are joining The First Tee and becoming a part of his high school’s varsity golf team.

  • Many of his friends call him a walking golf encyclopedia because he is an avid golf fan and golf historian.

  • 17-year-old senior at Xavier High School, involved with The First Tee for 8 years.

  • He is a member of the National Honor Society and volunteers with the “Homework Helper” program at school.

  • He plans on playing Division-1 college golf and double majoring in Business Administration and Finance so that he can work on Wall Street.

  • He enjoys playing basketball and ping-pong.

  • Has a passion for scuba diving and interacting with marine life.

  • He has had a few very serious injuries in his life which has helped him learn how to overcome other challenges in his life.

  • 17-year-old senior at William M. Raines High School, involved with The First Tee for over 9 years.

  • He likes to write poems about issues that America is dealing with today.

  • Represented his chapter at the 2013 Life Skills and Leadership Academy.

  • A memorable moment in his life was being able to have a speaking part in one of The First Tee Home Office’s PSA. (Which PSA)?

  • He aspires to play college golf and have a successful career in a golf organization.

  • He loves to sing even though he admits that his vocals are terrible.

Chahna Kim (Chah-nah Kim), The First Tee of Monterey County (CA)

  • 16-year-old junior at York School, involved with The First Tee for 8 years.

  • He led his team in the National Association for Korean School's 2013 Youth Forum Research competition. His team placed second out of around 100 teams and travelled to Washington DC to present a paper about Korea and Japan’s territorial dispute over the Dokdo Islands.

  • He hopes to attend an Ivy League university and graduate from medical school to become a specialist in cardiology and hepatology.

  • He wanted to study medicine after his mother was diagnosed with cholangiohepatitis.

  • Has developed a website, Kim Koo Youth Forum for World Peace, which focuses on sharing the life and ideas of Kim Koo, a Korean independence leader and peace advocate.

  • He has learned how to play many instruments in Samulnori, which is the traditional Korean art of percussion instruments.

  • The literal transition of his name, Chanha Kim, means gold and fluorescent grand palace.
