SUNIL
(looking at boundary)
Tune to kamal kar diya!
SANJIT
Yeh to kuchh bhi nahi hai. Agali ball to karane de. Aisi shot marunga ki coach ko chakkar aa jayenge.
Before the next ball is about to be bowled coach signals someone inside the stadium to bring the girls back.
SUNIL
(looking at coach.)
Ise kya hua? Niyam bana kar khud hi bhul gaya hai.
SANJIT
(laughs.)
Chalo achha hai.
Sanjit is looking at girls. Coach is sending girls out again. Sanjit does not understand but seeing girls depart he becomes angry and goes back to bat.
SANJIT
(thinks.)
Coach aap ko is mazak ki kimat chukani hogi. (Smacking ball hard and thinking aloud) Yeh le!
It surprises Sunil. He looks at ball flying out of stadium. Funny music plays. Umpire signals sixer. It is Sunil’s turn to bat. He looks at bowler’s t-shirt. It reads “No entry for girls”. He looks at coach who smiles. It makes Sunil angry and he hits boundary. Sanjit laughs and praises him.
SANJIT
Great shot partner!
Sunil waves back. Both look at Coach in anger. Coach looks away and smiles. Cut-to- Sunil has gotten out. His score on scoreboard reads 50 runs. Everyone is clapping. Vijay goes out to bat. Vijay looks for cheerleaders and finds some but on looking well he realizes they are guys with long hair. They are smoking and waving confetti to cheer them.)
VIJAY
(goes red in face and thinks.)
Cheer girls ki jagah cheer boys? Hum yeh apaman sahan nahi karenge coach!
He is angry and hits big shots in anger. Coach is secretly happy.
CUT-TO:
Anil goes out to bat and sees a girl hiding behind seats. He swings bat but misses playing some balls. Coach is showing him the right way to hit from distance but he cannot get it right and is looking at the girl. After one more ball coach sees girl and sends her out. It makes Anil angry and he hits four. Crowd claps. On last ball Sanjit hits sixer. Ball knocks out one of the “No Entry for Girls” boards. Sanjit's side wins the game and they congratulate each other. Scoreboard reads- India- 300/3 in 46 overs. Sanjit XI wins. Sanjit Sharma- 100* (120) Coach congratulates team.
COACH
Well done boys!
EXT. AT THE SAME TIME - ON STADIUM SEATS
Coach Stevens is looking worried now. He wipes sweat and leaves stadium.
INT. DAY – CONFERENCE ROOM
Stevens is talking to four Australian players of his team. Dialogues should go with Hindi subtitles or Hindi dubbing.
STEVENS
I just came back from the opposition camp. Looking at the pace and planning that they are working with I think it won’t be long before our team starts looking like a team of newcomers. We need to change our thinking.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Main abhi samane wale dal ki chhaavani se aa raha hoon. Jis tezi aur nishchayata se woh kaam kar rahe hain use dekh kar to aisa malum hai ki bahot jald hamari team unaki team ke samane nausikhiyo ki team jaisi nazar aayegi. Hume apani soch badalani hogi.
ONE GENTLEMAN
Are you sure sir? I can’t believe my ears.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Sir kya aap sach me aisa manate ho? Mujhe to apane kano par vishwas nahi ho raha hai.
STEVENS
I am very sure Mr Smith. Guess what their strategy is?
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Magar mujhe pura vishwas hai Mr Smith. Zara andaza lagaiye kya hogi unaki rananiti?
SMITH
Practicing more?
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Zyada practice karana?
ROBINSON
Attacking more?
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Zyada attack karana?
YUSUF
Teamwork?
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Teamwork?
BERNARD
All-round focus?
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Pura dhyan?
STEVENS
(looking at each.)
No, no, no and no.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Nahi, nahi, nahi aur nahi.
SMITH
Then?
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
To?
STEVENS
Other teams call it Mission Girlinator. In simple terms it means that girls have been disallowed in their camp till the world cup is over. No entry to girls.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Ise baki camps me Mission Girlinator naam diya gaya hai. Isaka matalab yeh hai ki world cup ke khatam hone tak unake camp me ladakiyo ke aane par pabandi lagayi gayi hai. Ji haan. No entry to girls!
Everyone chortles.
SMITH
(tries to press his laugh and apologizes.)
I’m sorry sir. But no entry to girls?
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
I’m sorry sir magar baat hai hi itani mazakiya. Ladakiyo ko entry nahi denge?
ROBINSON
(nodding and laughing.)
Mission Girlinator!
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Mission Girlinator!
STEVENS
It is not a joke. In fact, the joke is on us. We all know that presence of girls can be very distracting.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Yeh koi mazak ki baat nahi hai. Balki joke to hamare sath ho raha hai. Hum sab janate hain ki ladakiyo ki hazari kis had tak humara dhyan tod sakati hai.
Everyone laughs again.
SMITH
(laughing.)
I got your point sir.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Main aap ka point samajh gaya sir.
STEVENS
However, that is not my point. The point is what our point is.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Lekin hamara point woh nahi hai. Point yeh hai ki hamara point hona kya chahiye?
SMITH
The matter is really point-to-point.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Yeh to bilakul point se point wali baat hai sir.
ROBINSON
The matter is not that straight Mr Smith. (to Stevens.) You are pointing a difficult point at us sir.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Baat itani bhi sidhi nahi hai Mr Smith. (to Stevens.) Aap bevajah is mushkil point ko hamari tarf point kar rahe ho sir.
STEVENS
Let’s get to the point. We cannot do what the other teams are doing…
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Point par chalate hai. Hum woh to nahi kar sakate jo unaki team kar rahi hai...
ROBINSON
(interrupts.)
Why not sir?
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Kyun nahi sir?
STEVENS
Because it can tarnish our reputation.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Kyunki isase hamari pratishtha par daag lag sakata hai.
ROBINSON
Then what should we do sir?
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
To hume kya karana chahiye sir?
STEVENS
(thinking hard.)
I have an idea.
SUBTITLE OR VOICEOVER
Mere paas ek idea hai.
CUT
INT. DAY - CRICKET STADIUM HALL
Sunil is walking inside their dressing room in the stadium. He sees Vishakha waiting for him and is shocked. He panics and starts walking faster and hides in a corner. Others go ahead and Sunil goes towards Vishakha.
SUNIL
Vishakha? Tum?
VISHAKHA
Aise bol rahe ho jaise hum paheli baar mil rahe ho.
SUNIL
(walking and pulling her along.)
Yahan kyun aayi ho?
VISHAKHA
(pulling out her hand from Sunil’s grip.)
Ouch! Sunil kya kar rahe ho? Yahan par bhukamp aa raha hai kya?
SUNIL
Nahi. (flattering her.) Mere dil me jwalamukhi fat raha hai.
VISHAKHA
(giggles.)
Tumhe to har wakt mazak sujata hai. Khair chhodo. Yeh batao ki mujhe andar kyun nahi aane diya gaya?
SUNIL
(looks behind him and sees some players walking towards them and then says sarcastically to Vishakha.)
Shayad sachmuch hi bhukamp aane wala hoga. (Sunil starts walking faster.) Maine tum se yahan aane se mana kiya tha na? Ab chalo jaldi. (They walk some steps and stop. Sunil sees a pillar and hides Vishakha behind pillar.)
VISHAKHA
Ruk kyun gaye?
Team is coming closer. Sunil looks for some other place to hide but cannot find one. He takes his hat and glasses off and puts them on Vishakha and walks off leaving her behind.
VISHAKHA
Sunil! Kaha ja rahe ho?
SUNIL
Bathroom ja raha hu. Tum yahi par rahena.
VISHAKHA
To aisa bolo na.
Players pass them. Sunil comes back from behind.
VISHAKHA
Tum to bathroom gaye the na? Itani jaldi kaise aa gaye?
SUNIL
Woh discuss karane ka wakt nahi hai hamare paas. Is wakt usase bhi badi emergency aa padi hai. (looks around as if he is searching for someone.) Dekho Vishakha (pauses.) Tum abhi yahan se chali jao.
VISHAKHA
(saying surprised.)
Chali jau? Magar kyun?
SUNIL
Coach ne tumhe yahan dekh liya to meri khair nahi. Tum to janati ho niyamo ke baare me?
VISHAKHA
Tumhare coach ko kisi ladaki ne pyar me dhokha de diya kya?
SUNIL
Use koi ladaki mauka degi tab to dhoka degi na?
VISHAKHA
(laughs.)
Tumane sahi kaha. Khair yeh niyam-viyam ki bate chhodo. Aaj nayi picture lagi hai. Kashmakash. Chalo dekhane jate hain. Suna hai bahot achhi picture hai.
SUNIL
Naam se to aisa hi lagata hai lekin aaj nahi ja sakate.
VISHAKHA
Kyun nahi? Apane coach se itana darate kyun ho?
Shabbir and Rana are coming toward them. Sunil sees them in yamduts' costumes and with swords. Costumes and swords disappear after two seconds.
SUNIL
Guards aa rahe hain. Jaldi se yahan se chalo.
VISHAKHA
Sunil aisi bhi kya jaldi hai. Yu to har dum mere pichhe ghumate rehate ho aaj khud aayi hu to bhav kha rahe ho.
SUNIL
Vishakha mere paas sabakuchh samajhane ka wakt nahi hai. Ab yahan se chalo.
Guards are getting close. Both run and stop at a place where some workers are cleaning floor with brooms. Some brooms are lying in a corner. Vishakha and Sunil take sweeps from a corner, wear workers’ hats and do cleaning. Guards pass them. Both stop cleaning and walk further.
ONE OF THE WORKERS
(shouting behind Vishakha.)
Oh baai idhar jhadu kaun marega?
VISHAKHA
(ignoring her and saying to Sunil.)
Guards gaye. Ab to chalo.
SUNIL
Thodi aur door chalate hain. Coach ke jane ka time ho raha hai.
Both run further. When they reach a corner they hear someone’s footsteps.
SUNIL
Koi aa raha hai. Yahi par ruko.
The sound gets louder with every footstep. We see a zoomed close-up of coach Singh’s shoe and footsteps become ear shattering loud in Sunil’s ears. Sunil turns and sees coach walking towards them. He hides and hides Vishakha behind the receptionist’s desk. Coach is walking on the other side. There is silence in hall. Their hearts are beating loudly and we can hear them. They press their hearts. Heartbeats turn mute. Coach walks some steps and stops near a desk. Both squat in opposite direction of the coach and look from corner and wait. Coach moves. Both move with him. Coach walks the other way. Both walk in the same direction and crash into each other. They step out to see where the coach is going. Coach turns back at them. Both hide behind the table again. Sunil’s foot remains outside. Coach steps on his shoe. Sunil can’t shout but winces in pain. Coach takes foot off from his shoe and walks away from desk. Both peek outside the desk and see coach leaving. So they come out slowly and go in the opposite direction of coach.
VISHAKHA
Phew! Baal baal bache.
SUNIL
Haan. Ab tum yahan se jao.
VISHAKHA
Sab chale gaye hain Sunil. Ab kyun dar rahe ho?
SUNIL
Mere guards hamesha mere aas-paas rehate hain. (looks around.) Hume sath dekh lenge. Jao yahan se.
VISHAKHA
Sunil main itani door tak jane ke liye nahi aayi hoon.
Sunil walks. Vishakha follows. There is a song here. Vishakha sings first line teasing Sunil about being unloving and insensitive. Then she looks behind and sings about fear of world. Sunil keeps walking and crashes in some guy. Vishakha sings about accidents in love and recovering from them. Sunil avoids her and drinks. Vishakha sings of being thirsty in love. Sunil hides from the guards and the other staff. Vishakha does the same and sings about helping each other in rough times. Sunil takes a disguise of a cheerleader. Vishakha does too and sings about cheering up. Sunil sings about love not being game. Vishakha becomes a ball boy and sings about how love makes life easy and about how to conquer world with love. They sing inside a cupboard, sing in toilet, dance around floodlights and so on.
SUPERSCRIPTION- NEXT DAY
EXT. DAY - PLAYGROUND
Vijay is batting. Just when bowler is about to bowl, a hot girl called Anita walks on the playground. Vijay looks at her. She’s wearing an expensive gown, glasses, hat and all. Bowler bowls. Vijay cannot take his eyes off Anita and gets bowled out. His friends boo him. Anita walks towards a guy and asks for coach Singh.
ANITA
Excuse me. Mujhe coach Singh se milana hai.
GUY
Yahan ladakiyo ka aana mana hai.
ANITA
Maine phone par unase baat kar li hai. Aap please yeh bataiye ki woh kaha milenge?
GUY
(pointing at Singh.)
Wahan jaiye.
ANITA
Thank you.
Anita walks towards coach Singh.
ANITA
(softly.)
Hello coach Singh? Main hi hoon Anita. Kaise ho aap? (takes her hat off, lets loose her hair.) It is so hot out here.
COACH
(looking at Anita tip-to-toe.)
Vakai bahot hot hai! To kahiye Anitaji kyun phone kiya tha aap ne?
ANITA
Main aap ke paas ek request lekar aayi hoon.
COACH
(breathing hard.)
Request? I request you to request the request.
ANITA
(smiling.)
Main aap ko aur aap ki team ko Women’s Cricket Festival par invite karana chahati hoon.
Just then another player gets bowled out. Coach shouts.
COACH
(to player.)
Cricket par dhyan do. (looking at Anita’s legs and then at playground like he remembered something.) Long Leg. Fine Leg. Dekho. Dekho.
VIJAY
(gawking at Anita’s legs.)
Wohi to dekh rahe hain coach.
COACH
(slowly.)
Main cricket ki fielding ki baat kar raha hoon. Ladakiyo ki nahi. (turning to Anita.) Haan hum zarur chalenge aap ke cricket festival par.
ANITA
Thank you.
One guy is catching ball which has risen above his head but he is distracted on seeing Anita. Ball drops on his head and he falls. Others laugh.
ANITA
(Anita laughs and turns to Singh.)
Yeh mera card hai. Is par mera cellphone number hai. Aap mujhe kisi bhi wakt phone kar sakate ho. Ab main chalati hoon.
COACH
Ji bahot shukriya. (Anita leaves. Coach turns to players.) Alright everybody. I’m back. Mid-on...zara pichhe jao! (shouts again after one second.) Boundary ke bahar nahi. Andar!
INT. DAY - CRICKET STADIUM
Coach and team are going inside a stadium. Board on stadium entrance shows- Women’s Cricket Association. Women cricketers are playing on playground. Coach and team sit. Players are looking at women’s bodies more than their game.
COACH
Yeh team mahilao ki teams ki number one team hai. Inaki cricket ko dhyan se dekho.
ANIL
(lost in looking at women.)
Haan coach. Bahot dhyan se dekh raha hoon.
VIJAY
Kya uchhaal kar dalati hai.
Everyone looks at him.
VIJAY
(straight faced.)
Gend! Gend ko kaise uchhaal kar dalati hai.
ANIL
Haan. Aur pakadati bhi kitana zor se hai.
Everyone looks at Anil.
ANIL
(turning to face them.)
Gend?
ALL
Oh gend!
Coach turns to them.
COACH
Kya bate ho rahi hai?
ANIL
Ball ki aur bowling ki coach.
COACH
(holding imaginary ball.)
Oh. Ball ki. Inaki fielding bhi dhyan se study karo.
SANJIT
Bilakul coach. (looks at one women’s ass who is fielding on boundary.) Inaki fielding bahot tight hai.
Coach sees Sanjit looking at woman’s ass.
COACH
(still looking at Sanjit who is still looking at woman's ass.)
Sanjit. (Sanjit does not take his eyes off of her ass. Coach continues talking.) Tum bahot zyada dhyan se dekh rahe ho. Kahin tumhari aakhe nikal kar bahar na aa jaye. (tapping him on shoulder and pointing at the batsman.) Aage dekho.
SUNIL
(staring at a woman’s ass and muttering.)
Aisi achhi cheez dekh kar aur kya hoga.
Coach stares. Sunil looks away. Vijay is watching the match attentively when suddenly ball hits him and he falls off his seat. Fielder comes to get it. Vijay picks ball.
VIJAY
(touching ball sensually and thinking.)
Kai din ho gaye kisi ladaki ki chhui cheez ko chhue.
Fielder sees Sanjit and asks for ball.
FIELDER
(rudely.)
Excuse me. Ball please.
Sanjit has not heard her and continues to talk to himself.
SANJIT
(to self.)
Itani kimati ball ko to safe me rakhana chahiye. Kahin koi chura na le.
FIELDER
(is confused and draws Sanjit’s attention towards her.)
Hello? Kya main yeh ball le ja sakati hoon?
SANJIT
(giving her ball embarrassedly.)
I am sorry. (After she leaves he says to self.) Ball ball bach gaye.
On stands Anita is coming towards coach Singh and his team. Singh sees her coming and gets up to talk to her. Anita comes close to them.
ANITA
(to Coach.)
Hello Mr Singh.
COACH SINGH
Hello Anita. Hum game dekh rahe the. Aap ki team bahot achha khelati hai. Man karata hai ki apani team me ladako ki jagahe ladakiyo ko de doon.
ANITA
(laughs.)
Thank you Mr Singh. Anyway main aap ko yeh batane aayi thi ki game ke baad party me aana na bhuliyega.
COACH
Zarur aayenge. Vaise aap apani players ko kaise train karati hain?
ANITA
Unhe cricket ke nazadik aur baki chizo se dur rakh kar.
COACH
Main bhi meri team ke sath yahi karata hoon.
ANITA
Aur karana bhi chahiye. Is khel me focus hona bahot zaruri hai.
COACH
ANITA
Oh I see.
COACH
Aur main chahata hu ki party ke wakt meri team ka koi bhi khiladi ladakiyo se na mile. You know what I mean.
ANITA
I know exactly what you mean Mr Singh. Hum in par zarur nazar rakhenge. Humare layak aur koi seva ho to bataiye.
SINGH
Aur to kuchh nahi. Shukriya.
INT. DAY - PARTY HALL
Gangs of girls and guys are sitting on opposite sides of each other. Anita guards girls’ side. Coach guards guys’ side. There is a line between both sides.
COACH
(to his team.)
Go party boys. Magar koi badamashi nahi karana! Ladake ladako ki side rahe aur ladakiya ladakiyo ki side rahe. Agar maine kisi ko yeh Laxman Rekha landhate hue dekha to use banvas bhej dunga. Samajh gaye na sab?
ALL
Haan coach.
COACH
Ab aap log ja sakate ho.
Everyone leaves. Coach stands in corner. There are many people in party but no one is interested in cricketers.
SANJIT
(sipping his drink.)
Itani boring party maine aaj tak nahi dekhi hai. Koi hamari tarf dekhata hi nahi hai.
SUNIL
Aisa lagata hai jaise yahan par koi marane wala ho.
VIJAY
Chalo ladakiyo se bate karate hain.
ANIL
Coach dekh raha hai.
SUNIL
Coach ko main dekhata hoon. Aap log andar chalo.
ANIL
Thik hai.
Sunil dials a number on phone. In a corner, coach is smiling at Anita who is standing at other end. Someone approaches coach. Coach cannot see the guy until he is standing very close to him. He startles coach. Coach looks around embarrassed. Then smiles at him.
GUY
Sir aap ke liye reception desk par phone hai.
COACH
Thank you.
Both go to desk. Coach takes call. Caller is Sunil who pretends to be girl.
COACH
Hello? Coach Singh here.
SUNIL
(in girl’s voice.)
Hello. Good evening sir. Main Famous Massage Parlor se Anaida bol rahi hoon.
SUNIL
Hello Anaida. Bolo.
CUT-TO:
INSIDE - AT THE SAME TIME
Sunil’s friends are cautiously stepping in girls’ territory like army men infiltrate warfront. They are very alert and looking behind for coach or his men’s presence.
CUT-TO:
OUTSIDE
SUNIL
(seductively on phone.)
Hamari parlor me sundar ladakiya apane nazuk hatho se aap jaise hatte-katte naujawano ki malish karati hain.
INSIDE PARTY HALL
Anil is flirting with a girl named Roma.
ANIL
Hi miss Roma. Aap ne bahot achhi cricket kheli. Opposition ke chhakke bana diye. Mera matalab hai ki chhakke chhuda diye.
ROMA
Aap yahan kya kar rahe ho? Aap logo ko to yahan aane se mana kiya gaya hai na?
ANIL
Hamare paas to har jagah jane ka passport hai. Vaise aap ka figure bahot achha hai.
GIRL
(shocked.)
Kya? Badatamiz! (Leaves table.)
ANIL
(shouting behind her.)
Main to aap ke batting average ki baat kar raha tha. 86.24. Hello!
Roma ignores his shout and looks for someone. She goes toward a waiter and asks.
ROMA
(upset.)
Anita madam kahan hain?
OUTSIDE THE PARTY HALL
ANITA
(to staff member.)
Pata karo andar kya ho raha hai?
STAFF MEMBER
Abhi karata hoon ma’am.
INSIDE
Vijay is talking to some girl.
VIJAY
Hi I’m Vijay.
GIRL
Dekhiye coach ne aap logo ko yahan aane se mana kiya hai.
VIJAY
Dar asal coach ne hi mujh se yahan aane ke liye kaha hai. Aap ke achhe performance ke liye aap ko badhai dene ke liye.
He takes a rose from a vase on a table. The stem of the rose breaks when he’s handing it to her.
VIJAY
(pulling back broken rose.)
Oh! Shayad bechara Retired Hurt ho gaya hai. Ise doctor ke paas le jana padega.
Vijay laughs at his own joke. Girl gives him a stern look.
GIRL
Thanks for the compliment. (looking at rose.) Lekin main yeh nahi le sakati. Ab aap apani side jaiye.
She walks.
VIJAY
Lekin meri baat to suniye.
GIRL
Main kuchh sunana nahi chahati hoon.
VIJAY
Yeh rose to le lijiye. Aisa mauka...(Looking at rose.)...rose rose nahi milega.
Laughs but girl doesn’t look back. He stops laughing.
OUTSIDE
Coach is still on phone with Sunil.
COACH
Mujhe koi malish ki zarurat nahi hai. Agar dobara yahan phone kiya to tumhari aisi malish karunga ke usake baad malish karane ke liye ek bhi pasali nahi bachegi.
SUNIL
Sir aap mujhe galat samajh rahe hain.
COACH
Main bilakul sahi samajh raha hoon.
Coach disconnects and walks inside. Sunil too runs inside to tell his friends about Coach’s arrival.
