Edify's "EWF WAP Enabler" is a set of Application Objects add-ons for the Edify Electronic Workforce (EWF). These add-ons are available to WAP developers to create workflow and data interaction without writing any CGI code. Several standard functions built to these application objects facilitate WML page creation including selection lists and hotkey navigation. The Electronic Workforce is the first scalable, open system Internet and voice e-Commerce platform that enables enterprises to create and deploy e-Commerce applications across multiple channels including WAP v1.1 compliant devices, for multiple users accessing back end date resources (host, database, COM, etc.) in a dynamic environment.

Entrust Technologies Limited

Designed for telcos, banks and e-commerce sites Entrust Technologies’ WAP products and services deliver an end-to-end security solution for those interested in offering secure and trusted transactions to their customers and partners over wireless networks and mobile phones. Services from Entrust.net include WAP server certificates for server authentication to mobile phones and MyEntrust.net permitting affiliate issuance of WAP server certificates. Products from Entrust Technologies include Entrust/PKI for the issuance of WAP server certificates, and eventually WAP client certificates, as well as the Entrust/Toolkit for WTLS permitting application developers to create content servers and gateways that provide a seamless level of security to the transactions between mobile phones and back end systems.

Smartphone R380: WAP 1.1 compliant. A sophisticated combination of a PDA and a mobile phone in one device, based on EPOC. To be launched closely after the R320.

fusionOne is providing an Internet Synchronization service that automatically syncs information between PCs, handheld devices, web sites, and mobile phones. Unlike similar technologies that require direct contact between devices, fusionOne utilizes the Internet and wireless carrier services to automatically update devices with information changes, regardless of the device’s physical location. IBM recently launched its “SWAT Team” to help customers rapidly extend their e-business services to a new breed of WAP-enabled mobile wireless devices. The IBM WAP SWAT Team, formed to address this surge in demand, enables IBM to get customers started on WAP applications within days. IBM’s Pervasive Computing SWAT Team has access to more than 200 people who can deliver the wireless technology extensions of e-business solutions. The SWAT Team consists of consultants, architects and developers who work hand in hand with the local IBM Global Services teams, which recently added a new practice dedicated to helping customers use pervasive computing and WAP to extend e-business to a new generation of devices.
