Information Highway Information Highway has developed a WAP service that will give the Swedish National Weather Forecast Institute (SMHI) the ability to distribute weather forecasts to cellular phones. It is possible to click a button and get the local weather forecast directly from your cellular telephone, regardless of your current location in the world. Information Highway is also working with industry suppliers to identify the market possibilities in the development and sales of WAP-related services, as well as to analyse how WAP can support future cellular e-commerce solutions. Projects and preliminary studies supporting the WAP V1.1 Standard are run using IIS, Apache, Nokia WAP Server, Ericsson’s Jaffa framework, ASP, Java and C++.
