*TURKEY :  Capital: ANKARA  - NO PHASE
PHASE I: is in effect in for the southeastern provinces of Diyarbakir, Hakkari, Sirnak, Van, Tunceli, Siirt, Batman, Bitlis, Bingol, Mardin and Mus.
Travel to the south-east is restricted unless organized through government permission. Special escorts could be arranged for mission visits to these areas. Visas for nationals of EU member countries are available upon entry. Entry with UN LP is recommended only if it already contains a valid visa. Few officials at airports are familiar with LPs and they usually refuse LPs without visas because they cannot see the nationality, a required entry in their database. It is therefore strongly recommended to check with the local Turkish Embassy/consulate before traveling. When in Ankara, visitors are advised to visit the Designated Official to discuss their travel plan and contact the UN agency focal points/FSA for security briefing/debriefing.

VENEZUELA :  Capital: CARACAS  - PHASE I

NO PHASE is in effect for the rest of the country. When arriving at the Simon Bolivar Airport Hall (Maiquetia) please note that in order to take a taxi from the airport, you have two options: 1. The Airport Taxis, located outside the main entrance. Service tickets can be acquired at a counter inside and outside customs. They have yellow number plates as do all other “official” taxis. 2. Taxitour, private company operating within the airport that provides black vans (Blazer 4x4), and are identified by a round yellow logo on their front doors. Ignore offers of taxis from any person inside the hall, they may be “pirates” and “Express Kidnapping” and “Robbery” could occur if you should get into their vehicle. Keep adequate levels of alertness in the airport since pick pocketing, luggage and/or passport robbery can be expected, do not allow anyone to handle your luggage, or your passport.

All travellers to Viet Nam require a visa issued by the nearest Vietnamese Embassy. Please note that this can be a lengthy process, so it is advisable to apply at least three weeks in advance. The visa can only be obtained through the respective UN Agency or Government Agency in Viet Nam. Travellers who are currently holding Thai, Filipino, Malaysian, Singaporean, Lao PDR and Cambodian nationality do not need a visa to enter the country for stays of less than 21 days.
