Bob Berghaus, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: three years, $841,500. Signing bonus, $279,000, and reporting bonus, $30,000. Yearly salaries: 1995—$120,000; 1996—$187,500; 1997—$225,000. Salary cap number: $213,000.
Tom Mulhern, Madison Capital Times: Last summer, the Packers offered [Antonio Freeman] a five-year, $17 million contract with a signing bonus of just over $3 million. Freeman rejected the deal, choosing instead to play for the team's tender offer of $1.153 million and become a free agent at season's end.
AP: The one-year, $3.531 million deal ended Freeman's two-week holdout. It allowed him to report to training camp today and play while the team and Freeman's agent, Joel Segal, continue to work on a long-term contract.
Cliff Christi, Knight Ridder Tribune: Freeman signed a seven-year, $41.82 million contract in August 1999. Included in the deal was a $10 million signing bonus… In the end, Freeman netted $14.9 million from his contract for the past three seasons, including $2.7 million in salaries and $2.2 million in roster bonuses, along with his signing bonus. Not only does he lose his $4.3 million salary for this season, but also salaries of $5.8 million, $7.54 million and $9.28 million over the next three years.

In addition, his '10 base salary was raised slightly, but that only resulted in a small increase given there was only one game left when the deal was completed. A league source said that the signing bonus Goode received was $300,000, which is pretty good for a third-year pro.
Brian McIntyre, Yahoo Sports: the team recently signed veteran long-snapper Brett Goode to a three-year, $2.715 million contract extension… Goode received a $325,000 signing bonus and his 2012 base salary remains at $700,000. Pete Dougherty, GB Press Gazette: The escalators would increase his 2011 salary by $500,000 if he tops 1,000 yards rushing in 2010, $1.5 million if he tops 1,250 yards and $2.5 million if he tops 1,500 yards. He also can make a $2 million roster bonus if he rushes for 3,600 yards from 2008 to 2010 and another $2 million if it’s at least 4,100 yards.
Tom Silverstein, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: Grant's four-year deal is worth $20 million. It also includes $10 million of incentives, escalators and performance bonuses that are fairly attainable if Grant has the kind of year he did last season. Here's how the yearly salaries break down: In 2008, Grant receives a $3.5 million roster bonus and a base salary of $750,000; in '09, he gets a $2.75 million roster bonus in March and a $750,000 base salary; in '10 he has a $1.25 million roster bonus in March and a $3 million base salary; and in '11 he has a $1.75 million roster bonus due in March and a $3.5 million base salary.
In addition, he can earn $31,250 for every game he appears in over the course of the contract for a maximum of $2 million. He also has $250,000 off-season workout bonuses in the final three years.
Then there are the escalators, incentives and performance bonuses. In any of the first three years, he will receive a bump in pay the next year if he rushes for a set amount of yards. If he rushes for 1,000 yards, he gets $500,000 added to his base salary the next year. If he rushes for 1,250 yards, he earns an additional $1.5 million. If he rushes for 1,500 yards or more, he earns an additional $2.5 million. The escalator does not apply in the final year. If Grant finishes in the top 10 in the NFC in rushing in any year of the deal, he earns $150,000. If he finishes in the top five in the NFC, he earns $500,000. He also has a $250,000 incentive each year for making the Pro Bowl. And finally, if in the four years of the deal he rushes for 4,100 or more yards he will earn a $4 million incentive bonus at the end of the 2011 season. If he rushes for between 3,600 and 4,099 yards, he'll earn a $2 million incentive bonus.
Adam Caplan, Fox Sports: Grant, according to a source, has a $1 million roster bonus due on the 15th day of the new league year. Of course, with the players being locked out, the start of the new league year is unclear. Grant also has a total of $750,000 of per game roster bonuses ($46,875 per game active) and a $3.5 million base salary for 2011, the final year of his contract.
