Bob Berghaus, Milwauke Journal Sentinel: He agreed to a base salary of $200,000 after receiving a signing bonus of $800,000. He is scheduled to make $2 million next season and $1.5 million in each of the last two years of the deal. Joyner is to receive $500,000 of his salary for next year by March 15, 1998, if he is not released.
Bob McGinn, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Joyner, who received an $800,000 signing bonus in July 1997 and $500,000 more last March as part of an overall $1 million pay cut, now will have the entire $1.1 prorated portion of his signing bonuses count against Green Bay's 1998 cap. If the Packers had cut Joyner, only a prorated portion of the combined signing bonuses, or $366,666, would have counted against the '98 cap. The additional $733,334 would have been on their '99 cap… the Packers removed his $750,000 base salary from their books…
AP: he might have been waived by Sunday, when he was due a bonus of $ 500,000 as part of the four-year, $ 6 million contract he signed in mid-July… the two sides agreed that Joyner would take a $ 750,000 pay cut in 1998 in exchange for a new incentive package that could be worth $ 300,000. If Joyner, 33, plays all three years remaining on his contract, he will make the same $ 5 million in base salary and bonuses that he was to have made under his old contract… Under the revised deal, Joyner will count $ 1.117 million under the cap in 1998.

Tom Silverstein, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: he received a signing bonus of $110,200 and has made about $1.35 million over a career in which he has been a starter in all but eight of the games he has played.
Rob Demovsky, Madison Capital Times: The Green Bay Packers retained restricted free agent Aaron Kampman by matching the one-year, $1.2 million offer sheet he signed with the Minnesota Vikings last week… By matching the Vikings' offer, which included a $500,000 bonus and a $700,00 base salary, the Packers essentially decided Kampman was worth an additional $544,000.
Bob McGinn, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: The four-year, $21 million contract that Kampman agreed to Friday night with the Green Bay Packers is structured just right if you're a player or agent… The guaranteed money included an $8 million signing bonus plus a $3 million roster bonus, a $900,000 base salary and a $105,720 workout bonus all payable in 2006… Kampman's base salaries will be $1.9 million in 2007, $2.9 million in '08 and $3.9 million in '09.
