Environmental Assessment Report

(1) During the public consultation seminar to discuss the VIP-2 Environmental Review the participants strongly advocated that State Environmental Inspectors at Raion level be included in the training designed for Aiyl Okmotu Investment Councils. This was seen as way to begin to build an effective cooperative working relationship between SAEPF at the local government level and the LIC.

(2) In regions where Public Environmental Inspectors have been identified by SAEPF they may be co-opted onto the LICs where they reside. In other regions, one or more LIC members may be designated as “ Public Environmental Inspectors” by the LIC Chairman.

(3) As major changes in procedures or documentation are promulgated by SAEPF, refresher workshops and revised guidelines would be organized and issued. Total costs include 15 - 20% contingencies.
