Mr Thompson says his grandfather, Geo Thompson died in Co Armagh near Antrim Ireland & a few years later, his widow, Sarah? Thompson whose maiden name was Wilson set sail in 1828 for America intending to come to NY. They struck a storm which blowed [sic] all the sails off & sprung a leak & all who could were put to pumping & they drifted to Quebec, Canada where they landed. She brought with her, her entire family viz:

Andrew, Hance, Samuel, Thomas, William, Mahala, & Mary. The boys are listed in order of their ages, but he doesn't know where the girls come in. She having brothers John & Alex Wilson in Pgh Pa for whose home she set sail, she in the following Spring of 1829 moved to Pgh where my informant says Hance, Samuel & William all drove drays there being much hauling from the River before the advent of the railroads. After sojourning there awhile, all the family except Wm moved to Carroll Co, O & took up

land in Carroll Co on Irish Creek adjoining the Harrison Co line. His aunt was called Alia which he thinks was a nickname for Mahala. He says his grandmother lived among her children & he faintly remembers her & she died at the home of her oldest son Andrew in Carroll Co, O along the Co line & is buried at Germano, Harrison Co, O then called Jefferson O & has a marker in the cemetery at the edge of town there. Mr T. thinks her old bible would have been left at her son Andrew's & says all of his children are dead except Mrs Elizabeth Barr widow of Joseph Barr who is living near Conotton, Harrison Co, O 1 1/2 miles north on a farm, with her son George Barr. She is abt 86 & has a good memory & if she don't have the bible she would probably know who got it.

Mr Thompson has the bible of his father Samuel Thompson which was printed by Wm W. Harding in Phila in 1864 which was given to him by his two daughters & the record therein is as follows:
