Duties: Provide a project management resource for capital projects and represent REM’s overall interests as a member of the Project Teams by negotiating on a regular basis with Project Managers and attend Project Team Meeting and Project Control Meetings and obtain project approvals where relevant. Ensure that projects are completed to brief and cost standard by providing a point of contact and by monitoring progress and preparing reports and recommendations as required on behalf of the REM Management Group. Develop the capital asset works program, including replacements/purchase of assets, disposal and future requirements. Provide a project resource to manage the physical asset register and for the analysis of planned works, including interpreting Asset Management Plans, by providing, coordination and assisting with the preparation of detailed financial analysis for Asset Management Plans and by undertaking other related asset and leasing projects. Ensure the development and management of specific programs, eg, the Disability and Disabled Action Plan (DDA) and prepare funding requests to support such programs. Contribute to Business Unit planning, decision making and policy formulation as a member of the Branch management team. Provide direction and assistance to other members of the Asset Management Group re management/maintenance matters on an as required or team/project basis. Assist with the management of the relationship with Facilities Management Contract Suppliers, including dispute resolution, planning initiatives, etc. Research data on government properties regarding leasing details, maintenance costs, etc. and make recommendations for policy formulation/change.




Special Conditions: The incumbent must be prepared to be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent. The incumbent is required to conduct themself in a manner that accords with the DAIS Code of Conduct. Some out of hours work will be required. Intrastate travel necessitating overnight absence from home will be required.

The Senior Project Officer will contribute policy and planning advice and information on prevention of cervical cancer, and support the development and implementation of elements of the State Program assuming major responsibility for recruitment of women within the population target groups on a local/regional and Statewide basis using community development approaches, as appropriate.
