The program requires:

Clinical Advisor (salary range PSO2 $49,397-$55,334 per annum) who has experience of working with individuals who are drug dependent and has a recognized qualification in the health sciences or within the area of drug dependency.

Whose responsibility will be:

The provision of expert advice to the Magistrate of the Drug Court, regarding the suitability of potential participants for the program, their treatment and rehabilitation requirements. The Clinical Advisor will work extensively with service agencies to ensure that high quality treatment services are provided to the program participants and that the goals of the program are understood and supported.

DRUG SENTENCING COURT

Drug Court
The State Government has provided funding to continue the work of South Australian Drug Court within the Magistrate’s Courts of South Australia. Applications are sought from psychologists who would like to be part of an innovative and enthusiastic team of professionals.
The program was established in May 2000 and designed to assist those individuals appearing before the Magistrate’s Court who have committed indictable offences and have a long-standing drug dependency.
Drug Courts combine intensive judicial supervision, mandatory drug testing, escalating sanctions, treatment and support services to help drug- dependent offenders break the cycle of drug use and crime.


The program requires:

Psychologist 0.5 FTE (FTE salary range PSO2 $49,397-55,334 per annum) who has a masters degree in applied, clinical or forensic psychology. Is registered or eligible for registration with the South Australian Psychological Board.

Whose responsibility will be:

The provision of clinical and forensic assessment and neuropsychological services to the Drug Sentencing Court, as well as consulting with a range of drug and alcohol, health, welfare and community services which will address drug dependency and criminogenic needs.


Flexible working arrangements will be considered and hours of duty can be negotiated.

The Ninth Commonwealth Study Conference

Australia and New Zealand

October 16 – 29, 2003
Conference Theme: “People First in the Global Community”



Applications are invited from Australian men and women to participate in this unique development experience. The Conference brings together some 200 people from more than 40 Commonwealth countries who are expected to assume significant positions of leadership in their countries within 5 to 10 years.
Drawn from business, trade unions, public and community service, participants work closely together in investigating the relationship between people, enterprises and the community in the context of the Conference Theme. In this intensive study environment they find that their established opinions and perceptions are challenged and broadened in the process.
This 2 week residential Conference will opened in Melbourne on 16 October and conclude in Sydney on 29 October 2003.

The middle week of the Conference will involve members travelling to one of 14 separate regions in Australia and New Zealand for case studies.


The Conference involves long hours, extensive travel and there is no opportunity for work or private activities. Members are not permitted to be accompanied by partners.
All travel, accommodation and meal costs will be met by the Conference organisation.
Applications close on 31 January 2003
Short listed applicants will be interviewed by selection panels in capital cities and successful applicants will be notified by 30 May 2003.
