APPEAL RIGHTS
Public Sector Management Act vacancies to be filled on an ongoing basis are subject to appeal pursuant to Section 43 of the Act, unless shown otherwise.

With effect from 17/07/95 appeal rights exist for all ongoing positions at or below Executive Level 1 ie for positions with a salary or maximum salary limit less than $75,716 pa.

No appeal rights exist for vacancies designated contract (including casual, temporary and longer term contracts).

Appeal rights are only available to all employees of administrative units under the Public Sector Management Act with the exception of those employees employed on temporary, casual or longer term contracts who have 12 months or less continuous employment within the Public Service. Appeal rights are also available to:




  • officers appointed under the Parliament (Joint Services) Act, 1985, including officers of either House of Parliament or a person under the separate control of the President of the Legislative Council or the Speaker of the House of Assembly;




  • employees of the MFP Development Corporation to whom such rights have been extended by a proclamation of the Governor under Section 71 of the Public Sector Management Act and who retain such rights.

Duties: Set up, test and operate audio/visual recording equipment for all jurisdictions of the participating courts under the Courts Administration Authority Act throughout South Australia. Record and monitor court proceedings to facilitate the production of accurate and timely transcript. Provide clerical assistance to the Supervisor, Audio Recording, as required.




Special Conditions: These are part time positions working 45 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked. Appointments are under the Courts Administration Act 1993. Terms and conditions of employment are governed by the Public Sector Management Act, 1995. The Courts Administration Authority is a smoke free environment. Out of hours work, as dictated by managers or by court sitting needs, is necessary.
