Regional Development NE Intern

Roles and Responsibilities:
Prospect Management/ New Business
-
Proactively coordinate a comprehensive program of research on individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations that are prospects for financial support of UWGA four priority focus areas.
Revenue Generation
-
Assist the County Engagement Director with assigned portfolio of prospects and donors; including the coordination of workplace campaigns
-
Assist in the collection of pledges generated from workplace campaigns ensuring a complete and accurate audit
-
Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events outside of the workplace; including, but not limited to participants’ registration, marketing, collection of in-kind donations, etc.
-
Assist the County Engagement Director with potential venue hosts and inspect event facilities to ensure UWGA standards are met.
-
Assists County Engagement Directors with management of Campaign Cabinet Meetings and special assignments.
Donor Engagement
-
Assist the Northeast Regional team with social media management.
-
Coordinate timely and relevant posts, videos, stories, pictures on UWGA social media accounts as needed.

Confer with staff to identify content for UWGA newsletter stories.
-
Create and update PowerPoint presentations as needed.
Database Management
Maintain accurate, up to date information on current and past donors in CRM.
Young Professional Leaders and LINC Student Intern - Finance
-
Work alongside and support the Director of Young Professional Leaders and LINC
-
Work with United Way staff to create social media campaign to raise awareness and recruit members for both LINC and YPL
-
Assist Young Leaders events, developing and implementing growth strategies surrounding membership, coordinating communications and recognition activities
-
Assist LINC’s implementation of program to engage millennial donors/prospects in Atlanta community through strategic volunteer and networking opportunities surrounding the work of United Way of Greater Atlanta
-
Help to develop, implement and sustain strategies for soliciting YPL and LINC members. Identify the donor’s areas of interests through relationship development, and align those interests with strategies/products/programs of United Way
-
Identify and initiate contact with potential YPL and LINC prospects through individual engagement strategy
-
Engage volunteers, YPL Advisory Board Members and United Way staff to orchestrate cultivation
-
Coordinate activities with other departments whose activities/communications may impact LINC/YPL members/prospects
-
Maintain sufficient records, contact information, and donor database in CRM (record all activity in CRM)
-
Monitor trends in the community or region and help to adapt strategies as necessary
-

The primary job of the intern is to assist the Community Resources Manager to expand the United Way of Greater Atlanta 211 database. The duties include: Search for new non-profit agencies, invite non-profit organizations to join UWGA 211 database, do some site visit to new agencies with the Community Resources Manager.
Marketing Coordinator Intern

Assists with the implementation of marketing, advertising and social media

Assist with department administrative duties, development and maintaining of project status charts, event recaps and volunteer event billing

Provide community management and social listening of key department social media pages

Prepares marketing recap reports by collecting and compiling data cross departments

Assists with the development of promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with central marketing department; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt

Provide excellent customer service to Metropolitan Atlanta clients, partner agencies and corporate sponsors

Provide basic office management skills: data entry, data reporting, phone, faxing and filing

Provide short term case management: intake, assessment, advocacy application processing and follow-up

Maintain accurate computer records and paper files

Regional Development NW Intern:
The intern for the NW Regional Team will report to Regional Director, DePriest Waddy. The intern will be responsible for assisting the Regional Director and team throughout the spring 2017 semester. The intern will assist with donor engagement by reaching out to current/lapsed donors, completing audits, and tracking all appropriate data in CRM and other relevant databases. The intern will also help with marketing and communications for events and meetings throughout the semester. Responsibilities include updating social media accounts and communicating with board members, agency partners, and other community members. The intern will also assist with organizing the proper materials for all campaigns, meetings, and events throughout the semester.
