At the Annual General Meeting of the Bonnetmaker Trade held within Kidd’s Rooms Dundee at 6.30 p.m.
Present: Deacon Andrew Wallace, Boxmaster James A Davidson, Mr Douglas D Urquhart, Clerk and 26 other Members of the Craft

I. Minutes
The following Minutes were read and approved:

(c) Special General Meeting 16th December 1949
(d) Meeting of Committee 9th February 1950

(f) Special General Meeting 17th March 1950
(g) Meeting of Committee 7th July 1950

II. Accounts
The Boxmasters Cash Account for the year ended 15th September 1950 was submitted along with the relative Vouchers and these were approved.
III Election of Office Bearers
(a) Deacon.
On the motion of Ex- Convener Robert J Loggie seconded by Ex-Deacon D A Anderson Mr Andrew Wallace was unanimously re-elected Deacon for the ensuing year.
(b) Boxmaster.
On the motion of the Deacon seconded by Ex- Deacon Robert Duncan Mr James A Davidson was unanimously re-elected Boxmaster for the ensuing year.
(c) Committee.
It was intimated that Messers George Muir, J Duncan Dundas, Matthew Waddell and John Johnston were due to retire and were not eligible for re-election.
The following Members were elected to the Committee to fill the vacancies and to hold office for two years viz: Messers John W Sutherland, David S Moyes, Charles G Lang and Spencer G Dryden.
(d). Clerk. Mr Douglas D Urquhart was unanimously re-elected as Clerk to the Craft.
IV. New Members.
It was intimated that and Initiation Meeting had been fixed for 9th March 1951 in Gray’s Rooms.

The Committee having fully considered these Applications unanimously recommended the admission of the Applicants and fixed Friday 9th March 1951 in Gray’s Rooms Perth Road Dundee for a Special Meeting for Initiation of New Members.
It was unanimously agreed to invite the Reverend Thomas Campbell Minister of St Andrew’s Church to become an Honorary Member of the Craft and to attend the Initiation Meeting on 9th March.
II. Arrangements for Initiation
It was agreed that the price of the Supper Ticket should be 12/6d and that Mr Edward J Leddie West End Bar Dundee should be asked to provide the refreshments.
At Dundee the Ninth day of March 1951
At a Special General Meeting of the Bonnetmaker Trade of Dundee held within Kidd’s Rooms Lindsay Street Dundee at 6 p.m.

eighty one other Members of the Craft and Mr D Douglas Urquhart, Clerk
I. Resignation of Mr Douglas D Urquhart as Clerk
The Deacon intimated that it was with regret that they had learned that Mr Urquhart had tendered his resignation as Clerk after having held Office for twenty one years.
The Meeting accepted his resignation with regret.
II. Appointment of Clerk
Mr Wallace intimated that the Committee after full consideration had recommended that Mr Frank Hay be appointed as Clerk as successor to Mr Urquhart. He then informed the Meeting that the Meeting was open for nominations. Mr George F Brown proposed that Mr Fran Hay be appointed Clerk and Mr James R Nicoll seconded the motion. There being no further nominations the appointment was carried unanimously.
III. Deacon Wallace nominated and Boxmaster J A Davidson seconded the following gentlemen for admission to the Craft namely:

These gentlemen having severally emitted the customary declaration were accordingly admitted Members with all the rights, privileges and immunities pertaining to Membership conform to Minute of Admission in the Lockit Book.
The Clerk was instructed to have Certificates of Membership issued on payment of entry money, dues and Stamp.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Bonnetmaker Trade of Dundee held within the Office of the Clerk at 148 Nethergate at 3 p.m.
Present: Deacon Andrew Wallace, Boxmaster J A Davidson, and Messers Norman M Allan, Spencer G Dryden, Charles G J Lang, David S Moyes, John W Sutherland and Frank Hat Clerk
The Minute of Meeting of the Committee held on 9th February 1951 was read and approved.
Arrangements for the Annual Meeting and Annual Dinner were discussed and it was decided that the same arrangements would take place as last year namely tat the Annual Dinner would be preceded by the Annual General Meeting. the Clerk reported that he had previously booked Kidd’s Rooms Lindsay Street for the evening of 31st October. A full discussion regarding the price of tickets etc took place and it was agreed that the tickets should be £1. 1/8- and that the Members would be allowed to invite guests. The Deacon undertook to approach Mr Graham to se eif he would be good enough to sing for us during the evening and the Clerk was instructed to approach Mr Hinchcliffe to ask him to be our accompanist. The Toast List was then discussed and it was arranged that the Toasts would be:

II. Accounts
The Boxmaster’s Cash Account for the year ended 15th September 1951 was submitted along with the relative Vouchers and Securities and the same having been examined and approved he Cash Book was docqueted as correct.
III. Clerk’s Salary
The Committee fixed the Clerk;’s Salary for the year ended 15th September 1951 at £31.10/- .
IV. Annual General Meeting & Annual Dinner
The Deacon reported on the arrangements made by him an the Clerk in connection with the Annual Dinner to be held in the Royal Hotel om 31st October after the Annual General Meeting. the Committee approved of the arrangements. The Clerk submitted draft Toast List which was also approved.
