Duties: The Diabetes Health Worker will provide to Aboriginal clients of the Diabetes Programme specialised education, understanding and knowledge of treatments, dietary requirements, social and health and well being issues relating specifically to diabetes.




Essential Minimum Qualifications: An Aboriginal Primary Health Care Certificate III or IV or similar qualification through an authorised training facility is essential.




Special Conditions: Some out of hours work may be required. Some intrastate travel involving overnight absences may be required. A South Australian current driver's licence is essential. Duties: Responsible for the provision of health services that contribute to the improved health status of young women who are attracted to the same sex, and their families. The Community Health Worker (Out Lesbian Bisexual Women) utilises the principles of Community Development, Primary Health Care and Health Promotion and is responsible for undertaking research into the health needs of young same sex attracted women, developing, implementing and evaluating health education programs and participating in the development of policies for the organisation.

This will be achieved by strengthening family's ability to build links into the community that support community capacity. The incumbent will also undertake additional consumer consultation that will be required to establish additional programs. The initial conducting of support groups and activities will occur in this period and recommendations about ongoing program requirements will be made to the Parenting Network and Integration management.
