Wells, Elliston, Lewis Wayne and Darlene Wells, Salem. Funeral services will
be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2001 at Gateway Baptist Church, with
the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver, Jr. and the Rev. Jack Bailey officiating.
Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Friends may call anytime after 2
p.m. Sunday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday
evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.

PROFFITT, Jeanne Miller, of Pearisburg, died August 10, 2003. When she passed through the gates of Heaven and applied for a job as an angel, her resume read "79 years of experience". Born in Hinton, W.Va. and raised in Clifton Forge, she was preceded in death by her parents, Earl B. and Cora Miller as well as three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 57 years, O.C. "Buddy" Proffitt of Pearisburg; a son, Bruce Profitt and his wife, Anita of Low Moor; a daughter, Corky Bailey and her husband Jerry of Pearisburg. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer Robinson and husband Chris of Richmond, Jean Ann Bailey of Pearisburg, and Courtney Profitt of Low Moor; and one great-grandson, Blake Robinson of Richmond. Other survivors include two sisters, Margie Nichols and her husband Charlie of Covington, Marilyn Woods and her husband Tommy of Clifton Forge; sister-in-law, Elenora Miller of Erlanger, Ky.; a cousin, Irene Trainium of Craigsville; a special nephew and niece, Scott Dew and Sally Thompson of Clifton Forge; as well as many other nephews and nieces. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Jeanne took great pride in her family as a homemaker, especially to her beloved grandchildren. For years she was an avid golfer and an active member in the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church. She counted herself very fortunate to be blessed with a loving family and many good friends and neighbors. A sweet and gracious lady, Jeanne will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her. She died as she lived, a Christian. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral services will be at Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead at 11 a.m. with Pastor Shahn Wilburn conducting the service. Burial will be at Mt. View Cemetery in Clifton Forge at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2003. Respecting the wishes of the family, in lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Carilion Hospice, 707 Randolph Street, Radford Va. 24141 or in memory of Jeanne, to go in the name of the Lord Jesus and do a random act of kindness for a stranger.

PSATHAS, Bonnie Bateman, 68, of Pearisburg, passed away Friday evening in
Pulaski County Hospital. Mrs. Psathas was born on November 27, 1932 in Red
Sulphur Springs, W.Va. and was a daughter of the late Oscar Bateman and
Thelma Ellison Bateman. Mrs. Psathas grew up in Ballard, W.Va. and graduated
from Peterstown High School. Mrs. Psathas was a former employee of Hercules
and had helped her husband run Capitol Cafe in Pearisburg for the last 30
years. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Bill G. Psathas,
Sr. of Pearisburg; one son, Bill G. Psathas, Jr. of Pearisburg; 1 daughter,
Amy Jo Psathas of Christiansburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and
Willie Overton of Baltic, Conn.; two grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews; and a very close friend, Ethel Shrader. Funeral services will be
conducted Monday June 25, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Givens Funeral Chapel in
Pearisburg with the Rev. Todd Millsaps officiating with burial to follow in
the Orchard Cemetery in Ballard, W.Va. The family will receive friends
Sunday evening at the Givens Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. L. J. QUESENBERRY, 82, who died yesterday at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Calvin HALL, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from Aldersgate Methodist church with burial to follow to family cemetery on Robinson Tract road.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Minnie ROBERTSON, Mrs. Elbert DUNAGAN, Mrs. A. T. THORNTON; two sons, Luther QUESENBERRY and Arthur QUESENBERRY.

Also two sisters, Mrs. G. V. QUESENBERRY, H. C. QUESENBERRY, of Delton, and one brother J. M. NUNN of Atlanta, Ga.

The body will be taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. THORNTON, on East Main street, where it will remain until the hour of the service.

Funeral services for Ernest R. QUESENBERRY, who died Friday afternoon at his home on Dora Highway, will be held today at 2 p. m. at Strickler’s Chapel. The Rev. Edgar O’Dell will conduct the service.

QUESENBERRY is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances BARTLETT QUESENBERRY and seven sons, Ernest R. QUESENBERRY Jr., Darrell E. QUESENBERRY, David D. QUESENBERRY, Harry A. QUESENBERRY and Michael B. QUESENBERRY, all of Pulaski; Donald B. QUESENBERRY of Radford and Sherman L. QUESENBERRY of Tacoma, Washington.

He is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Mary EVERSOLE, Mrs. Marie CECIL, Miss Nancy QUESENBERRY and Mrs. Ann WILLIAMS, all of Pulaski; Mrs. Bonnie HUGHETT of Burlington, N. C.; Mrs. Helen LINDSTROM of Detroit, Mich. And Mrs. Peggy COBLE of Draper; his mother Mrs. Delia Ann QUESENBERRY of Pulaski, and two brothers, Ewell QUESENBERRY and Charlie QUESENBERRY of Pulaski.

He is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. Hazel KEGLEY, Mrs. Maude CARLTON and Mrs. F. BURGESS of Pulaski,; Mrs. Irene SPENCE of Radford, and Mrs. Elva SCOTT of Parkersburg, W. Va.

Burial will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery. The body will remain at Strickler’s until service.

Mrs. Mary Jane QUESENBERRY, 81, died Sunday morning at Pulaski Hospital.

Surviving are three sons, Kermit QUESENBERRY, Hiwassee; Douglas QUESENBERRY, Dublin; Claude V. QUESENBERRY, Oak Hill, W. Va.; six daughters, Mrs. Fannie McCAMBRIDGE and Mrs. Ollie McPEAK of Hiwassee; Mrs. Mason COLE, Bluefield, W. Va.; Mrs. Opal MARSHALL Allisonia; Mrs. Bessie HURST, Staunton and Mrs. Billy O’DELL, Oak Hill, N. C.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. from Bethel Primitive Baptist Church , Hiwassee, conducted by Elder Oscar A. Harris. Burial will follow at Hurst Cemetery.



The body will remain at Strickler’s Funeral Home until 12:30 p. m. Tuesday when it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the hour of service.

QUESENBERRY, Ollie Harrell, 79, of 810 Pepper Street, Pulaski, died Sunday
morning, January 16, 2000 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born March 27,
1920, in Little Creek, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Harrell and
Queenie M. Shinault Harrell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54
years, Joseph Franklin Quesenberry. They both previously resided in Norfolk
for 50 years. She is survived by four daughters, Martha Jane Reid of Meadows
of Dan, Barbara Joe Richmond of Mauston, Wisconsin, Brenda Gayle Jackson of
Chesapeake, Va. and Susan Starr Morgan of Radford; four sisters, Beulah
King, Elva Doyle, Lona Fagg, and Emma Fuller, all of Pulaski. Also surviving
are 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be
held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor
Kevin Combs and the Rev. Clayton Sweet officiating. Interment will follow in
Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Visiting will be anytime Monday after 2
p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home, where the family will receive
friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

QUESENBERRY, Draper Viller, 64, a lifelong resident of the Dry
Valley-Childress section of Montgomery County, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000
in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a 12-year battle with kidney
disease. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce Boyd Quesenberry; his
parents, Viller and Gertrude Quesenberry; and his father and mother-in-law,
Troy and Nannie Boyd. Dad will be remembered for his respected craftsmanship
in drywall and plastering. His work included buildings at Virginia Tech,
Radford College, and hospitals in West Virginia and the Carolinas. In recent
months, he had reunited with the Laurel Hill Church of Christ where he had
been a member for most of his life. He enjoyed the renewal of these
friendships and the support given to him during his final months. He is
survived by his wife, Margaret Chrisley Quesenberry of Christiansburg;
daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie Q. Roberts Erickson and Andy of Radford;
sons and daughters-in-law, Draper Clayton "Clay" and Linda Quesenberry of
Floyd, and Jesse and Debbie Quesenberry of Radford; grandchildren, Ross and
Jake Quesenberry of Floyd, Venetia DiRico Wood of Greenville, S.C., and Amy
DiRico Toby of Waldorf, Maryland; three sisters, Arintha Smith, Shirley
Duncan and Stellean Saul, all of Radford. Also surviving are stepdaughters,
Lynn Reed, Angel Griffith and Kim Dalton; and nine stepgrandchildren. Dad is
also survived by an extended "adopted" family, including Brenda and Dean
Wagner, The Sale Family, special friends, Roy Blankenship, Lloyd Stiles, Ann
Vaughn and Mae Dobbins and a large group of friends at the Radford Travel
Center and New River Dialysis Center. A special thanks to ministers C. E.
Mannon, Jimmy Davis, Richard Kingrea, Keith Vinson and Mike Reynolds for
their visits to the hospital over the years. To Debbie Weeks and Betty
Helvey, Dad has always expressed a special appreciation for everything you
did along the way. Also, a very special thank you to the committed staff at
Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, Carilion Roanoke Memorial and
Friendship Manor Health Care. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May
6th at the Christiansburg Church of Christ, South Franklin Street,
Christiansburg with Mr. C. E. Mannon officiating. Interment will be in
Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg with Rev. Jimmy Davis officiating. There
will be no central meeting place for the family, those wishing to call on
the family may come by any of the family members' homes. The family will
receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Horne Funeral Service in
Christiansburg.

QUESENBERRY, Eula Elizabeth Rupe, 93, of Dublin, was received into Heaven Monday, February 3, 2003, where she joined her precious husband, Rev. Roy Pierce Quesenberry. They had been married almost 70 years when he preceded her in death on December 15, 1996. She has also been re-united with her son, Lawrence Everette and her daughter, Barbara Ann, whom she dearly loved and missed. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Q. and Lewis Kirtner of Pulaski County, Dottie Q. Thompson of Knoxville, Tenn., and Lelia Q. and Larry Cugina of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Glennard and Dorothy Quesenberry of Blacksburg and Clarence and Annabelle S. Quesenberry of Bridgewater, Va.; two sisters, Lucille R. Hughett of Roanoke and Ellen R. Harris of Radford; grandsons, Anthony Akers of Dublin and Michael Thompson of Florida; granddaughters, Teresa Crawford of Bridgewater, Joy Helms and Rhoda Dunwoody, both of Georgia, Angie and Faith Quesenberry, both of Tennessee, Ginger Cary and Tammy Akers, both of Richmond, and Valerie Faulkner of Charlotte, N.C.; fifteen great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 6, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Radford Worship Center with Rev. Don Sizemore officiating. Mrs. Kate Porterfield Quesenberry, 68, of 735 Commerce St., Pulaski died Monday night (Mar 4 1968) in Pulaski General Hospital.
Born in Pulaski County July 12, 1899, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Dale Porterfield.
Surviving are her husband, Stephen Walter Quesenberry; one daughter, Mrs. Clyde C. Albert, Pulaski; one son, Richard Woolling Quesenberry, Pulaski; two sisters, Mrs. G. S. Felty, Petersburg and Mrs. John I. Quesenberry, Pulaski; also nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.,. from Strickler’s Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Edward F. Lovill. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The body will remain at Strickler’s.
